Oh why do they have to change things again It was much better when they went back to the old format of the results on the Saturday. Please don't go back to the results on a Sunday as it just doesn't work.

I think they are doing it because they want Bruce to carry on but the 2 shows on the Saturday are too much for him so they have moved the results to the Sunday so they can have someone different - Maybe to use his replacement for next year to gauge what people think.

Please don't change things BBC

If the Sunday shows are going to be live, then I think it will be a good idea.

I hated the Sunday shows previously because they were pre-recorded and it took away a key part of the excitement coupled with the fact that they tried to make out that the show was live when it blatantly wasn't.

It will work if they have a voting element as part of the results show, perhaps a dance-off with the bottom two with the public deciding who gets voted off.

I have mixed feelings about this. When they first moved results to Sundays I hated it but I did get used to it in the end. However, when they moved back to Saturday's last year the show was too long, especially in the early weeks.

If it's live (which I doubt) it will be fantastic but I think it will be fine to have the results on Sundays whatever. To be honest I think it's only some die hard fans who hate the results on Sundays - it got very good ratings. They could of course just have a later, separate Saturday results show but I think a Sunday results show will probably end up getting more ratings than a later one on Saturday.

I liked checking for spoilers in the middle of the night, though : )

That said, how would they do a Sunday show live? Len and Bruno are usually jetting back and forth from London to LA on Sunday.

Isn't the X Factor results show shown live on a Sunday?

Even more reason NOT to do it then.

I'm happy with a Sunday results show - the more SCD the better as far as I'm concerned.

I love the idea of having the results of SCD on Sunday, as I always find Sunday a boring day anyway and it livens up the evening for me

I much prefer to have a separate results show on a Sunday, especially if it allows more time to include some proper dancing by the pro dancers.

.... even if it goes up against (in competition with) The X Factor? Something that was a damaging failure last year?

I honestly couldn't careless about what is on the other channels. We've got so many ways of watching - a second TV, dvd/video recorders, live online or on iPlayer.

Maybe they did it so the pros in the dance troupe had a bigger role...

...unlikely actually because they obviously don't care about the pros

I like the idea of a Sunday results show and having Strictly 7 days a week again...I however would prefer if it went back to being recorded on the Saturday night like it used to be.

Apart from the fact I always found it quite exciting checking the Spoiler thread....I think both the Pros and the Celebs need a break on the Sunday instead of having to go back to the studio again.

I doubt a clash will take place this year, I think jay and Jana learnt their lesson.

If the show stayed exclusively on Saturday it would clash anyway.

The X factor usually airs from 8-10.

If the beeb are going to continue with a joint show [which I doubt] it would clash anyway unless they started Strictly before 6 p.m[ and they also have Merlin to Fit in].

If they had an seperate results show they could only air it during the X factor at around 9.30, as the MOTD has to start no later than 10.30 with the news for 20 minutes beforehand.

If they move it to 7.15 on a Sunday they can avoid the X factor whose results usually start at 8.00. On Saturdays Strictly can air 6.30-8.00. Thus avoiding a x factor clash

Hated the Sunday show. No excitement at all and it all drags on too long. I speak as a devotee. Keep the Saturday live show. So much better IMO.

I agree with this, and i can't say that the fact the results were recorded on the Saturday but they acted like it was live bothered me at all, i used to like listening out for any mistakes

I think they have always recorded the results show on a saturday anyway..... it's just that they used to show it on a sunday and last year changed to showing it an hour or so after they recorded it

Don't be daft. That would give them one day less to learn routines. It's tight enough as it is.
Saturday results kept the momentum, whereas on Sunday it falls flat. If the viewers call in they should get to see their results sooner rather than later.
They are trying to 'milk' the 'franchise' again.

The Sunday show will not be live. There is no way they can afford to bring everyone back again for a live show on Sunday. It will be recorded on Sat like before with most people knowing the result on a Sat.

Most people won't. The small percentage of viewers that go to forums like these will.

Last year's format clearly needs changing - it was far too long. They could have the results later on Saturday but that's not great scheduling for a show like Strictly.

Me too, a bit of strictly on a dark winters evening is never a bad thing.

I also find that if I'm in on Saturday night then I can spend the night online nattering about the show and waiting for the spoiler which is quite good fun, or if I'm out on a Saturday I can watch the recording and then pretty much follow it up straight away with the results.

Well, the format IS changing as they are reducing the number of couples (so the shows will be shorter).
