I have a Creative Labs Nuvo2 MP3 player and when i play some MP3's that i have ripped from a CD, the sound is a bit distorted, any idea why?

have you tried playing the files on your P.C?
how did you rip the music to MP3?

I own a creative MP3 player ( zen xtra), and although i cant help you directly, theres a few good Creative labs MP3 player websites, with active and helpful forums, as well as the creative labs newsgroups.
The official Creative Labs European support site is here:
http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/ theres forums as well as a comprehensive knowledgebase/FAQs in there for various products such as soundcards and MP3 players.

Next up is the unofficial, but very helpful and informative site, http://www.nomadnes.net
theres stuff on there for all the creative nomad mp3 players (Zen/Muvo/jukebox1/2/3)
as well as dedicated forums for each player ( such as the Muvo series)
the forums on both sites listed above have regular postings by represntitive of creative labs.
