9200T wrong labels
Robin2
16-07-2010
The problem that I am about to describe happened a few months ago, but I formatted the HDD and it cleared up for a while.
About a week ago it started playing up again. If I set a recording using Guide it shows up OK in the Schedule. Looking later at the recorded programs it appears to have missed the recording, but often it is there disguised as another program which I had recorded a day or so previously. Sometimes it shows up as multiple copies, two or three, of a previously recorded program. If I delete one of them the others disappear at the same time.
I installed the latest firmware, v23, and did a restore default settings. I then tuned manually to our local transmitter and edited out the channels which we never watch. Unfortunately, this fault persists. I made a couple of test recordings this afternoon and one of them was hidden behind the title of a test which I made yesterday, which showed up in triplicate. I'm going nuts, but don't want to format the HDD if it can be avoided because we have a number of recordings which SWMBO wants to watch
Any advice gratefully received

Watch the recordings as soon as possible and then format the drive. If you delay then the risk is that all recordings will disappear and can only be retrieved by attaching the hard drive to a PC.

Hmmm - I was afraid that was going to be the advice. But you are probably right, some of the existing labels in Recorded Programmes are becoming corrupt, some are now gibberish

Formatted and did a manual tune 4 days ago. So far, so good!

I have two 9200T both with .23 and it has happened to both of them, unfortunalty it has happened twice to one of them after resetting.

I should add that it also happened several times to both machines before I installed .23

It could be that your hard drive is starting to fail.
