I have my Humax 9200T set to record Coronation Street. This has worked perfectly until a week or so ago when some of the recordings were just one minute long. They start on time 19.30 and end at 1931. It is still happening occasionally.

Any advice please?

I have the same problem with my 9300. It didn't happen before the recent firmware update but it does now. Sometimes it's series linked programmes and sometimes it's stand alone programmes. Rather than record the full programme it only records the first minute or so. I did a complete reset and manual tune after the firmware upgrade.

I have had this problem in the past and it's always been ITV1 in the afternoon (dramas like Midsomer Murders, Frost etc.). Pre v.23.

Others have also referred in the past to 1 minutes recordings and IIRC these have been on ITV1 as well.

I never record or watch Corrie, so I've no experience there.

ITV have taken to the nasty habit of changing the event id's after series or accurate recording reservations have been set. This is resulting in failures to record on both Freeview and Freesat (HD and SD) which particulary affect Coronation St. Strenous efforts are underway to get ITV to put someone in charge of the Freeview+/Freesat+ recording codes who actually has a clue what he/she is doing . If you record the repeat on ITV2 it should work OK. May be the ITV2 bod should get a promotion

I've had 1 minute recordings occasionally (about 5 I would guess in two years) on software version .21 but have had at least 3 in the short time on .23. The usual scenario is that the recording starts erroneously at the scheduled time of the recording and consists mainly of adverts. The Humax recording is usually terminated at the same time my Vestel detects the EITp/f status change to start the recording. I assume from this that it is the receipt of the EITp/f status change that is triggering the termination of the recording on the Humax.

The phenomenon is referred to as "the 1 minute recording issue/bug" but the duration can be any duration up to a few minutes. My assumption that it only occurs on late running programmes and has a duration equal to the period by which the programme is running late.

This seems to be quite common now, it started for me with Lewis.

I suspect the TV companies are sending out a stop signal which our machines are receiving and doing just that.

If it happens again to me I think I will change my recording setup to actual time and ditch this PDC nonsense.

Has anyone experienced this particular phenomenon on anything other than an ITV channel? I certainly haven't.

My moans about series link are on another thread but I thought that I would add a little to this also. As usual I had to re-schedule my Corries on Fri because one episode had just disappeared from the epg in spite of this showing on the Humax schedule. Also Eastenders only recorded for the last 11 minutes.

I don't think we can blame the broadcasters necessarily. My Vestel and Top up TV units have successfully recorded the programmes that were affected on my Humax . It appears that the recordings are starting incorrectly at their scheduled time instead of waiting for the EITp/f transition to start the recording (see post #? above). When the recording starts there is no change in transmitted data to initiate a recording. The only event is the time on the system clock reaching the scheduled start time of the programme.

If it were a broadcaster error I would expect all Humax Freeview PVRs and also other makes to be affected. I have not seen any evidence of this.

The 8-day Freeview EPG of course . I would not consider the 14-day EPG as a relevant comparison.

All are effected, there are threads on this on pretty well all the relevant forums. What normally happens is that the series recording crids are correct so the box awaits the event id to start recording, Because ITV have started changing these if the change is made after the reservation was set the recording fails to start. The next scheduled episode replaces the current episode in the schedule and on a Foxsat-hdr a failed recording entry appears in the media list. On those boxes like the Foxsat-hdr which allow auto padding and series recording to co-exist enabling auto padding which disables AR produces a recording every time. The first time this was reported was for the HD transmissions of Lewis but the problem has now spread to other programmes with Corrie being specifically affected. It only affects ITV1 a series recording of the repeat on ITV2 works every time.

One of Humaxes executives Bob Cat has personally approached his opposite numbers at ITV to try and sort this debacle out.

Incidentally deleting the series recording an hour or so before the recording is due and re-entering it works every time but invariably if left the next days recordings fail again

It has happened in the past on BBC ONE for me. A long time ago, and I suspect BBC were able to resolve it.

I think we are referring to different issues. As per the thread title I'm referring to the so called "I minute recording bug/issue" resulting in short recordings which affect the Humax Freeview PVRs and has been present for years and has the symptoms I described above. I suspect you are referring to the complete failure of certain ITV programme recordings which has occurred recently.

We have seen Coronation Street fail to record and also this week there was at least one one minute recording (of Coronation Street) so I suspect the problems are linked in this particular case.

This isn't the problem in my case as I use manual padding at the start and end of programs so the machine should ignore these signals.. All mine problems were on Midsomer Murders on ITV3.

Thats interesting. Were you able to establish when your recordings started and/or ended relative to your padding settings or relative to the scheduled time. How long were your recordings?

I had problems with 3 recordings (2 hour long programs - all Midsomer Murders on ITV3), 2 of them recorded for around 90 minutes and the 3rd for just 1 minute - this one started at the beginning of the padding (18.57 for a start time of 19.00) and showed the same start and finish time on the recorded program listing. This was a couple of weeks ago and I haven't had any problems with other programs since although I can't recall trying to record any Midsomer Murders on ITV3 since then.

Thanks for the info. Most issues involving "1 minute recordings" that I have seen reported have involved "On Time" (no padding) recordings. You seem to have a different issue.
