opps.. thats not good. She could try resetting its setting back to the factory settings. Go to Settings -> General -> Reset... however bear in mind that she'll loose any custom settings she may have entered if she does this.
Another thing to try is to get her to connect the phone to the computer and try synching the thing from iTunes. I've also heard of people installing a new app (just choose some free one) can help with this kind of thing.
