That explains why he has only been working on stage for the last few years, and that has been very sporadic. Well done Frazer.

While we are at it ... best wishes to Nick Courtney, who is undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.

Oh no! Pancreatic is a type not often recovered from, isn't it?

From Wikipedia:

Pancreatic cancer is a malignant neoplasm of the pancreas. By the end of 2010 in the United States is estimated that about 43,140 individuals will be diagnosed with this condition and 36,800 will die from the disease.[1] The prognosis is relatively poor but has improved; the three-year survival rate is now about thirty percent, but less than 5 percent of those diagnosed are still alive five years after diagnosis. Complete remission is still rather rare.

I believe Mr Courtney is having chemotherapy. Given that he's past 80, I should think things are tough for him. He's had the odd minor stroke in the last couple of years, too.

(Am I right that he was due to be in the SJS wedding episode, but was unable because of health?)
