Hi, after being on holiday abroad for a week, my father looked after our 2 westies. I supplied him with their regular food, which is butchers tinned meat various flavours, alongside hero mixer. The dogs have mainly always ate this brand, after trying them with different tinned meats this was the one they seemed to like best. However now, when we are back home, one of them doesnt seem to like it anymore. My dad then told me our dog had been eating his dogs dried food, and so i went out and bought dried food, much to the disgust of my other dog, but now ours wont even eat that. Its been a week, and for the last few days i've resorted to putting tins of tuna fish in with the dried complete stuff, just because he is not eating. So today, i've gone and bought the original food they were eating, but he still wont eat it, what can i do now??

Should i carry on with the tinned i originally fed them, or stick with the dried which they dont seem to want to eat, im running out of ideas on what to feed them?

any help would be much appreciated

How long is it since your dog has eaten? My dog went off her food and I thought it was largely behavioural and hot weather but unfortunately it wasn't. It was very serious. If your dog doesn't eat for several days it might be worth a visit to the vets.

I'd suggest that your absence might have something to do with your dog's behaviour and has consequently affected his eating habits. I would be stubborn on this one. Don't be dictated to by your dog. Stick with the original food and the hunger should eventually kick in.
Also, if he's not interested straight away, take the food away and try again later but don't leave it down for him all day.

Other than that get swiftly down to the vets as as the other FM said it could be something more serious.
