I keep hearing about these phones with 'Android Technology'

I can't help feeling it's a real life Doctor Who story arc coming to life!!!

I wonder who's behind it?!?!

Probably the Kraals (from The Android Invasion).

Superb.

This is like my much mocked theory that the volcanic eruption related flight bans were a cover for zombie invasion related travel bans.

Alas, some people didn't realise I was joking and as such though I was a looney.

Bad times.

This post made me choke on my tea

It is my favourite post to date, perfectly combining humour with pathos, displaying a philosophical outlook on life, and provoking empathy in the reader.

Heheh .

And though I get this thread is a joke OP, I wouldn't put something like that past Google after the whole "accidently" stealing wifi data thing with Google Streetview.

Ah that wont happen, I mean unless the inventor of the Android phones is a dying cripple. If he is then we need to worry.

Joking, eh? Then why were scientists studying the phenomenon only last year?

It is a phenomenon and one that deserves study. One day there will be an apocalyptic zombie outbreak and all of you who mock now will be bitten and join their undead ranks while those of us who have prepared house fortifications and escape routes will survive and build a new, better, society on an island somewhere. Right?

The best thing about that article is that one of the researchers is called "Robert Smith?"

The question mark being part of his name.

When I was living in Lincoln a few years ago, there was an earthquake - I'd fallen asleep watching 28 Weeks Later, and was awoken by said earthquake. But in my newly roused state, I was certain that the dead had come back to life, and the earthquake was them ripping the ground apart to come at us for our living brains...

I was mightily embarrassed to realise that wasn't the case, after all (and not a little disappointed - go figure!).
