Oh dear

Though on the brightside, hopefully these odd maladjusted harridans have ceased watching the show. It's too good for their type.

Why is that Tennant's babies thread still in the Doctor Who forum rather than in a more general forum? He's not in the show anymore so it's not really relevant here.

Yes, plus it's full of the sort of distasteful lechery that would be frowned upon were the gender roles reversed.

Unfortunately, some would have us believe that the right to act like the female equivalent of a building site is exactly what Emily Pankhurst chucked herself in front of a horse for. Miss guided

Mad people. All utterly insane. I hope poor Matt Smith is bearing up under the strain of this level of clinical insanity, as I daresay he is receiving a decent whack of it too.

I'm sure he considers the bits of bad madness a small price to pay for all the good madness.

That's a great way of putting it, CHJ. Lots of good madness in Matt Smith's life at the moment.

Sorry to correct you, but Emmeline Pankhurst didn't throw herself under a horse, it was Emmeline Davison

Quote:
“In 1913, another WSPU member Emmeline Davison (and not Emmeline Pankhurst as many suppose) threw herself under the King's horse at Ascot, killing herself. Des'erate times call for desperate acts and, as Emmeline Pankhurst was to comment later: "The militancy of men, throughout all the centuries, has drenched the world in blood. The militancy of women has harmed no human life save the lives of those who fought the battle for righteousness.'”

Here's the link to the article, it's the penultimate paragraph

My shocking lack of knowledge about the history of the Suffering Jets has been cruelly exposed. Consider me humbled.

Funny, that. Apparently, only men can be sexist...

But of course Tingram

Men= sexist
Women= empowered

anyway, dont want to get off topic.

Those Tennant fans eh? Utter loonies!*

*Please note i am referring only to those who would choose to send hateful missives to our lord and master Mr Moffat, not the average Tennant fan who is very pleasant. well adjusted, in no way at all creepy or odd or desperate and makes a brilliant contribution to fandom in general.

Ah yes, like those two women in the Kinder Bueno ad who are 'empowered' to humiliate the complete stranger in the sauna by nicking his clothes and leaving him walking through a crowded room starkers. Which of course is hilarious because it's a bloke who's the victim-but I wonder how many complaints Ofcom would have received had it been two blokes making a woman run the gauntlet in the buff?

Hmm. Well, alright-but don't let it happen again!

Much as I was disgusted to read that Grand Moff had received such letters, it doesn't surprise me in the slightest, think about how vehement some of the hate on here has been, then times that by ten for the kind of nutters who sit at home writing letters to TV execs!

"Shocking behaviour from Tennant Fan-Ladies!" is wrong. It should read: "Predictable behaviour from Tennant Fan-Ladies"

I may have been being a tad disingenuous with my thread titleing.

I absolutely agree. Nothing annoys me more than this sexist rubbish. The way men are depicted on TV these days is dreadful.

Excuse me, I'm a Tennant fan and I've never done anything of the sort. I'm sure 99.9% of DT fans haven't. Unfortunately there are always nutters around.

And more correction it was Emily Wilding Davison who threw herself under the horse. The jury is still out as to whether she intended to commit suicide.

And once again mention the DT name and suddenly no one can mention him in a Who forum again - don't remember seeing anyone saying the same about Frazer Hines in another thread.

There are always silly people who take things too far.

Lastly an interesting view in a letter in next week's Radio Times from a 69 year old fan.
'I have enjoyed the latest series but there is one crucial difference which means that Matt Smith will never replace David Tennant. You see, I want to mother Matt, but I want to sleep with David.'
And there you have it in a nutshell.
Incidentally I prefered Chris Eccleston to both!

Erm no, all you have there 'in a nutshell' is proof that even women plenty old enough to know better seem only capable of enjoying the program based on the relative sexual merits of the lead actor. which is sad indeed.

I just thought it was meant to be funny. And it was. (Speaking as one old enough to know better)

Actually the person I want to mother is Rory; he brings out all my maternal instincts.

What was she trying to do? Feed the horses?! Some one should have told her she can do that after the race once they're safely back in the paddock.

I agree with this quite strongly, come on peeps drop the double standards. This forum is for discussion of Doctor Who and Torchwood and that can and will include discussion of people that appeared in the show in the past in an unconnected capacity, be that Frazer Hines' health, Chris Eccleston's Lennon Naked or people still wanting to have David Tennants babies.

Plus I find the casual connection some seem to be making between people that post in the "babies" thread on here with the kind of nutjobs that would send The Moff hate mail which I feel is rather uncalled for. They seem pretty harmless to me from what little I have seen of the thread.

The people who sent the hate mail on the other hand, are pretty contemptible creatures who are best pitied.

But not entirely un-justified I would fathom

I would say more than likely totally un-justified actually. In fact I think it's pretty unpleasant of you to even imply they might be responsible for it without a shred of proof to back it up.
