Humax Foxsat HDR

I installed my receiver yesterday and all seemed fine. I set it up to record programmes on BBC1 and ITV1 HD using the series link and they recorderd ok. Tonight I noticed while recording on BBC1 when I tried to change channels to watch ITV 1 it jumped straight to channel 108 BBC HD and wouldn't allow me to watch anything between channel 101 and 108 even though I was only recording BBC1.

My box is connected to the tv via an LG 2.1 system using HDMI cables.

Would I be better connecting the Humax directly to the tv?.

Any answers appreciated.

Patrick.

Can you confirm that you have connected your Freesat box to two cables from your dish and have you checked that each tuner is showing good strength and quality?

If you have two cables, did you connect both cable initially or connect one to see if it worked and then connect the other?

If the later, do a 'factory reset' to enable twin tuner operation.

Hi fixerman.

Yes both cables are connected. Signal and quality strength for both tuners shows 100%

Assuming you are certain that only 1 programme was recording at the time somehow your hdr is working in single cable mode.

Go into the setup menu and press RED GREEN YELLOW BLUE GREEN YELLOW BLUE to get into one of the two secret menus.

Look at Antenna Setting - it should say Fixed Antenna
Look at Connection Type - it should say TWo Cables (same)

IF these are wrong exit and do a factory reset and look for the two cables found message.

To check full two cable working (you can try this first if you wish)

Goto 951 BBC1-Ci press the instant record button, now goto 108 - BBC-HD start a second nstant recording. Now check you can access and live pause any other channel

You need to check your antenna settings..

Press menu then scroll down to 'set up' then across to 'freesat tune' but don't press ok. Now press red green yellow blue green yellow blue, ignoring the no entry icon. Select antenna setting and check the connection type is set to 'Two Cables (same)'
