Lost Iphone
Guys,
My OH lost her Iphone 3GS abroad, and I'm now in the process of getting her the Iphone 4. Just wondering if I can restore backup from Itunes into the new device, will it have a problem with teh firmware..(she did not upgrade to latest firmware)? Also, how many Iphones can be paired into a single Itunes account? Lastly, how do you restore from backup? Thanks in advance. |

You can have as many Apple devices linked to Itunes as you like. I have and Iphone and I Pod. The only limit is that each device can only be synced to 5 nominated computers.
Everytime you sync you iphone it should create a back up. Go to file> preferences > devices > to view which iphone was backed up and when. Then when you plug the new iphone in for the first time it should come up as "register as new phone" (something along those lines) Or it will ask do you want to back up the phone from a previous back up. Select this option and it should move all your contacts etc to the new phone as per the previous one. I think you may need to sync it again to add music etc. I only know this as i will probably be replacing my damaged Iphone in the coming days so i therefore researched how to do all this.Hope it helps ![]() PS - not sure about the firmware issue though. In theory surely it should be backwards compatible? |
