What is the best network for thier HSDPA Speeds.

I know the coverage will depend of area.

Got a HTC Desire on O2 and in the city it connects to H and is fast.

Currently getting pay as you go for all the other 4 networks and seeing how thier coverage of H is on the handset. As I do not want to top up all of them to test the speeds etc

What is the best for HSDAP speed? Do any of them limit or cap the speeds of downloading of HSDPA.

Also who has the best deal on the mobile data bundles on sim only plans?

Thanks in advance.

I've tried all networks while driving around using my iPhone for internet radio in the car. I have found Three not only to have the best coverage (I hardly find anywhere it doesn't work!) but is much faster than all the other networks. I regularly see speeds of 3Meg+ down and 1.8Meg+ up! Not bad for a mobile network!

Before the Three-bashing commences, of course there are areas that are slower due to congestion etc, but compared to the rest i've found them way better.

im busy trying to identify the same thing, my O2 iphone 3GS gets (with 2 bars signal this is) about 1.2mb down, 0.3 up. my mates one on three gets about 2.5 down but less than 0.1 up in the same location but also gets all 5 bars.

I think its very much dependant on the cell tower your connected to, what speeds it supports, how many users are connected and what the current load is.

I have the speedtest.net app on my Desire which is on Orange.

When i have full signal i get 3-3.5meg download and around .1-1.5 meg upload when connected to H (Orange branded phones will show this as 3g+ unless they're using a debranded phone).

I have had excellent results with 3. I've managed to get 5Mbit down and 2Mbit up at times, which rivals or exceeds my ADSL connection.

Coverage is pretty good also.

Agreed THREE will get you amazing high speed, I get over 200kbps on my iPhone 3G and used to get just 80-90KBPS on my o2.

Seeing as you asked ...

O2: 1814kbps down, 345 kbps up.

Not bad.

O2 last night

2428kbps down, 294kbps up, 248ms ping, that was with 3 bars of signal strength.

I really do think its just hit and miss. Since I got new sim card ive been averaging 1200/250 on O2.

My coleague gets about the same download but 1700+ upload on his iphone 4 on O2...

Not bad!

Desire on 3 only drops below 2 at peak times according to the speedtest.net app. I've tried vodafone but that came in at 1.4. Don't think I would be tempted away from three, they seem very consistent.

Vodafone just now 2941 Down 1200 up, not bad in this area at this time of day.

My first test gave me 12,000+ down, then I noticed the WiFi was switched on.:/

That's because their 3G coverage is so pitiful, no one can get a 3G signal to test it :P

Well 02 are better than t-mobile fir 3G coverage for me at least. It works 95% of the time whereas t-mobile works about 10% of the time.
