Yup.

O2 don't want to play nice with their customers.

UK:

iPhone 4 Refunds
If you are not fully satisfied with your iPhone 4, you can return your undamaged iPhone 4 to any
Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

US:

iPhone 4 Refunds
If you are not completely satisfied with your iPhone 4, you can return your undamaged iPhone 4 to any Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. If you purchased your iPhone 4 from AT&T, you can also return it to an AT&T store.

That's the only difference I noticed.

O2 are refunding (or rather swapping for another phone) apparently now (link as above). Release day buyers have until 6th August. Or return them direct to Apple. I assume you cannot get out of your contract.

Very scummy company in my experience (CPW). Sorry to hear that you're another of their victims.

It wouldn't be probably if they hadn't spent so damn long stalling over it. Did you notify them in the 14 days? (Not that their 14 day return date has any legal standing, or is their reply doing anything but acting prejudicially to your statutory rights BUT STILL a large retailer is evidently above those!)

i rang them within 3 days and all they said was apple will be correcting it with an update, my fault for listening to them

apple say they will swap it over, does this mean the one i get from them will be unlocked to all networks ?
