Someone explained dogging to me once as being a 'sex with spectators'. I didn't see any spectators during Sherlock, so wasn't it just couples 'making out' as Americans would call it?

My son asked why the car was that car rocking, I quickly said i don't know lol.

Going back to the "mind palace" section, I actually do that!!!!
If i lose something, create a map in my mind of all the places i have been. When working out maths, i picture the whole equation and turn it into a cartoon strip, and when i was doing human biology and would picture big sections of the body, chop them up, zoom in and out, take bits out to see behind. I find it is a great way of learning/revising or trying to put together puzzles.
In sherlock it likeswith the texting, it is good to have a visual reference so that the actor doesn't have to vocalise everything that is happening, and creates a picture of the abstract mind that sherlock clearly has. It is not mean't to be sci-fi, just a mode of presentation.

... interesting that Steven Moffat is on record as having seen the film "between 30 and forty times", though Mark Gatiss says he has taken some of the adversarial Mycroft (Christopher Lee) for his own interpretaton.

THANK YOU. I could not have put it better.

Andrew Scott is a fantastic and talented actor, not just as Moriarty, I wish he'd get more credit. He deserves it.

The Hound of the Baskervilles proves what I've always thought - Russell Tovey is a rubbish actor. Very affected, overdoes it. Cringeworthy to watch.

I do that sometimes. It's more files for me that a palace, but I'm sure the principle of you're looking through everything and need to discard it somehow. Your hands would naturally do it since you're "in the zone".

I'd rather they didn't do it, but I saw nothing wrong with it.

People have their quirks.

I think the action was only happening in the one car (the one that was causing the "Morse code" activity from the headlights because of the movement )

I really enjoyed this week, and I really enjoyed last week (maybe I am easily pleased). I think that the writing is fantstic and thr "main players" do such a good job.

I didn't mind Russel Tovey, not seen him in anything else, he seemed ok.

Lol. I didn't see the show but I'm glad someone got that nugget of information, assuming it happens of course.

My interpretation of what various posters have said about the ending in the prison cell is not that they want every miniscule detail explained to them, more that they were confused about what was going on. Certainly, when I watched it, rather than thinking how intriguing it was, I was left wondering whether it was a relevant part of the Baskerville story, as opposed to the start of next week's story, and if it was the former, what had I missed because I didn't get what was going on. I hope that makes sense.

I'm so glad you said that. I was heavily criticised a few pages back because I had the temerity to ask what that last scene meant not having realised it was a trailer. It's nice to know that it's not just me (and my husband) who didn't spot it.

Interrogation room, prison cell, Elvis, Lord Lucan or Moriarty. I'm afraid it was all too quick for me to catch what was going on.

Thank you. Someone else that felt short changed by the lack of the set up for next week. As I said, my issue is not Moriarty's release but the lack of any mention of his capture or incarceration.

Also, who was it that let him out? Was that meant to be The Golem without his mask on?

And that's pretty much the whole point, a point that many people seem to be missing....

You weren't supposed to understand what was going on....you're supposed to wonder what might be going on

I *hate* the way all shows feel compelled to stick a "coming next episode!!" segment on the end of a show.

I didn't say I was happy I had to wait 32 year to get an explanation I merely stated he was wrong to suggest there was not one as one is coming out and as such his claims about Alien and Con Air were both incorrect.

Can people stop trying to put words in my mouth regarding irrelevant comparisons brought up tangentially by others and then try to twist my words to create a statement of intent that's not actually mine? Is it not possible to simply respond by by point as I do without trying to somehow suggest my mentioning of the release of Prometheus to disprove an incorrect statement implies I'm happy it took this long for an answer? Because I didn't type that out so I don't get why you're making that assumption other than to support an argument against based on chinese whispers and selective reinterpretation.

I've already said I am going to wait and watch next week's episode. Again, apparently I am typing things you aren't reading and you're then suggesting I've said things I haven't. This is not a conversation, it's devolving into playground logic of accusatory assumption and then derision for attempting to clarify myself.

I feel I'm going to have to explain how to actually have a valid debate based on substance rather than supposition any second now.

^ when you see that your show is doing that you soon make sure to have the remote to hand, so you can change channel or mute it when the current ep has finished.

This ep felt very ordinary to me. Still watchable but unremarkable and casting werewolf Tovey in a show with a giant hound in it is poor casting. Apart from that his ears are seriously distracting and unless they decide to make “Bash Street Kids: The Movie” I believe we should see much less of him on our screens.

Hi guys, somehow i've just come across this thread. I absolutely love this show! Just when you don't think it can get any better, it does.

Can't wait for the finale now, btw how creepy is Moriarty? Particularly in that scene where Sherlock thought it was him in the gas mask. The ending to the episode was so tense and sets next week's up very well.

Yes, you can normally, and I do always have the remote ready and waiting for that reason, but there was no indication at the end of the latest Sherlock episode that the "coming next time" was about to happen, if that was what it was. Or none that I noticed anyway, and I'm always on the alert for it.
