Ut it wasn't really 5 minutes, it was 4.5 hours of leading to that moment. We were constantly being told that he was behind everything, so you start to form images in your mind and some weak, diminutive, half-witted, humungously camp Graham Norton wannabe was not how I pictured him.
Also if you are a fan of the books you have a lot of information about Moriarty and he was nothing like that portrayal.
Like I've said, I have more of a problem with the way he was portrayed rather than the way he was written.
