Cat loosing weight and slow
Phylan78

Just 3 ...like a human with the flu as in ever slower moving and weight declining, low on energy, all for just a 3 year old....not eating much. This has been going on for about 6-8 weeks. She's a neutered female.

Any suggestions what's wrong?.

My cat showed these signs for 5 days. I took her to the vet this week and it was liver and kidney failure.

I am burying her ashes in the garden when they are returned to me next week.

Either you are WUM or not a caring pet owner.

Sorry, my first response was a bit sarcastic.

To rephrase it - no-one should be asking for medical advice except from a qualified expert, and certainly not on a public forum.

That applies to pets and humans too! I am amazed at the number of people who post in other forums asking for advice on their own medical conditions, when only a GP or similar can answer.

Goodness! Glad I made my second post now. I never thought for a moment that anyone would take my first post as a serious comment!

There are any number of causes which all need urgent vet attention - kidney failure, liver failure, poisoning, bowel obstruction, infection, diabetes...many more but the basic advice is take her to a vet asap.

Why? Is it considered rude or something?

It was meant to point up the statement as being sarcastic, meaning being in agreement with what you said.

Like I said, it's so easy to be misunderstood!

Anyway, OP, what did the vet say?
