White iPhone 4 delayed again (not coming in July)
KesterK
23-07-2010
Last Friday Apple announced that they will begin selling the White iPhone 4 by the end of July... now they have just said this is no longer going to happen. Will be available later this year.

Quote:
“White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.”

I got a black one at launch, and I convinced my boyfriend yesterday to get the black one too :P cause hes on O2 and was doing the early upgrade but wanted to wait for the white... but the early upgrade offer runs out tomorrow.

Probably fixing them (coating the aerial?) so that all the white ones don't suffer the signal problem.

I don't think Apple dare do this... they'll just relight all the backlash, if they just leave it as it is now then nobody will even think about it in 6 months, where as a "fix" on the white would remind everyone and black iPhone users will be asking for a swap, etc.

Yet that is probably why they have made an implicit deadline.

If you don't meet the deadline and keep the phone then you certainly have no legal right of returning.
You have knowingly accepted faulty goods with the free bumper being the fully agreed compensation.

Apple have said there is no fault and are giving free bumpers as a good will gesture, not compensation.

Interpretation always needed I guess for "I'm not saying we didn't make a mistake,"

I'm gutted by this, i have been waiting for the white iphone 4 so i can upgrade early, don't fancy the black one as I have a black 3G and wanted something different! My contact isn't sue til the end of the year so it probably is for the best.
