O2 iphone unlock and general customer services.

Hi, just wanted to post how impressed I am with the O2 iPhone unlock program and customer service in general.

What? Its not often we get good, positive posts on here!

Im a pay monthly customer and have been for years now. I took out an iPhone 3G deal a few year ago and then earlier this year bought a 3GS handset as a replacement (lost the 3G).

Anyhow, shortly after I tried to unlock the phone via the O2 website, never recieved the confirmation text.

Upgraded to iPhone 4 yesterday and thought I would give it another go, this time I rang O2 (2302 from handset) and told them my ID, number, IMEI etc and was told it will be unlocked within 4 working days.

4 minutes.. yes FOUR minutes later I recieved the sms confirming the phone is now unlocked, just need to insert a different sim card and complete the process on iTunes.

WOW! Even the old nokias at my local 'gadget store' took longer than that and that was unofficial unlocking!

Well done O2, not only this week have they restored my faith in their 3G network (replaced sim and sorted slow connection issues), they made upgrading to iphone 4 very easy and the unlock program is spot on!
