did anyone on this forum use the Strictly forums on the BBC website?
Just that I remember a lot of peeps from there and wonder if they've 'migrated' over to DS like me

I didn't use them last year as I didn't like the new layout, but I used them for several years before that.

I've used them in the past and they get worse each year, this site is much much better (talking about layout)

Same here - I just come on DS now. I occasionally have a look at the Beeb ones but don't post on them anymore as I found them quite spiteful on occasions!

I started off on there as vampadvoacate (as I originally joined the beeb forums to post on the now abolished forum for Buffy the Vampire Slayer where I seemed to spend most of my time defending Spike). People probably known this I bashed heads impressively with Aevin Fox - it's a pattern I have that I seem to migrate towards defending short, cute, marmite blokes. I came on here after the beeb forum closed at the end of series five and stayed on the whole are less vicious on here I find. I did quite like the splitting off into sections that they did last year especially the vintage Strictly section and there were some interesting threads on the beeb website.

I much prefer the DS board 1) because it doesn't have that awful colour scheme and 2) that three-minute wait to post is so annoying!

I always think the debates on here are really good and if we are having the Sunday results show again (groan) it is fun to sit up and wait to find out if anyone has leaked them!

i have been on the BBC forum for the last couple of years but to be honest i got a bit fed up with it last year as most of the posters seemed to have a 'down' on everything connected with the show, and i think when you hear so much negativity it rubs off on you, i know it spoilt a lot of the enjoyment for me so i think i perhaps will not be going back there this year.....

I was Flippin Eck (and something else before that, but I can't remember what) - can't be bothered with the BBC boards. There are loads of ex-BBC-ers on here.

I used to be on there and probably still have an account. I was Kipperscarrot. The problem I used to have was the boards were full of 'I'm always right' teenagers who could be quite nasty at times and I ended up having a pointless argument with one of them (who to her credit apologised later) so stopped posting after that.

I may post this year before the spite and venom starts.

Edited to say: Before being accused of sterotyping, I'm sure not all teenagers are like that, but the ones I met on the boards were

Yes, this one is OK but prefer the Strictly forums which are not open at present. Like to see less subjects and less (irrelevant ) comments on their forums.

Yes, a frequent flyer on the BBC Strictly Message Boards - but the bitchiness started in too early last year, requiring an Overdose of Smileys and a Flourish of Off-topic Story Lines to lighten up the atmosphere.

Have a different name over there - prefer to stay relatively anonymous and non-gender-specific to avoid some of the vitriol.

I've no idea why people moaned about the layout changes - the only bit I objected to was having Bruce and Tess stare out from the home page like the golden wizard and witch statue from Harry Potter (Book VI, I believe) as though the show was about them and not about the dancers. It always riled me.

However the Board moderators finally acquired their own fan groups!

The series was so long, people got bored.
I still think that 12 couples is the ideal size for the show.
