Hi peep's, just brought kinston 8gb sdhc card for my mini pro but
when I put my mp3 file's on there, to play on phone, they skip
and dont play right, when same file's on card I got. with phone

I am right in thinking that sdhc card's are compatable with pro? or
could. my card be faulty maybe? I must confess i'm at a loss and in need of some help

Their website only mentions SD cards, however a quick look at some forums shows people are using SDHC without any issues. Might be worth formatting it in the phone, if that doesn't work I'd take the card back.

Format the card via the phone as said. Or via a computer using the same partition format as the old one.
Speed issues should only be software.

Verify any files copied to it too.

I formatted in phone and pc now, when i transfer music over thru my pc, the music play's fine thru winamp on pc with no wierd skipping ,then when i put the card in my phone & and the phone index's and prep's card they start to skip.

I have also took my card out of phone, put it back on my pc,to try the file's thru winamp and they skip. So it seem's after it's been in my phone somthing happen's

Like i said the card which come's with the phone, work's perfect.
I'm not sure if this matter's but the card which come's with the phone is formatted in fat & card i brought of ebay is fat 32 but is that not because one is a micro sd and the other is micro sdhc?

Isn't FAT16 limited to 2GB? Anyway if your phone formatted it FAT32 then I can't see that being the issue. I had another look around, the phone supports cards up to 16GB so it must support SDHC and FAT32. I'm at a loss to be honest, maybe something is wrong with the software on the phone and a factory reset might be worth a try, back your stuff up first.

Elsewhere mention is made of formatting it via the DOS prompt with 'format f: /FS:FAT32 /A:8K'
(or use your SD card format utility.)
Supposedly if it is 32K you can get problems.
Maybe with the file chunks(cluster size) of 32K being too large to handle without delay.

Warning - I am assuming f is your SD card when plugged in!
The above command formats drive F.

I forget but cluster size might normally be set automatically according to the size of the drive.
You could also try a 4K cluster size.
