Having problems and difficulty finding the connection charge on BT calls. Can anyone help? Sky seems up front in quoting 9p?

9.9p increasing to 10.9p in October.

11p on Virgin.

You do realise those Connection fees only apply to numbers that begin 01,02,03 and UK mobiles that do not form of your inclusive calls.

Virgin and Sky actually charge more for premium rate and 0844.

Virgin charge 12p connection on some 0844 and they charge up to 70p on some 090 numbers.

Over the next 6 months all of the big phone companies will change there prices.

It is likely you will see Virgin Media Cable plans include 0845 and 0870 numbers as well as Virgin Mobile numbers as part of inclusive calls, thats probably why they are increasing the connection fee.

By 2016, calls to mobiles will cost the same as landlines as they are being forced to cut out termination rates, it includes all O2,Vodafone,Orange,Vodafone and now 3. It does not include Cable and Wireless UK,Cable and Wireless Guernsey,Jersey Telecom,Manx Telecom or Lycatel or Trufone numbers.

3 are looking to offer unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles for £30 including a phone if termination rates are cut and unlimited will mean no more than 4,000 minutes.

It comes at a bad time for Everything Everywhere which must be screwing at 3 and BT who are the ones who have been calling for the end of termination rates, Everything Everywhere must have thought they would be able to cash in on the termination rate fees and expensive roaming costs,well not anymore.

Why does it take six years for termination rates to drop ?

I'll bet it wouldn't take six years if they were raising them .

If termination costs drop to that of landlines, then you'll be looking at paying for incoming calls on your mobile or taken out of your inclusive minutes packages, no good for those who just want a PAYG mobile for people to contact them on when out and have little credit and then find they have to pay 20+p / min to answer the call.
