Thank you. I just hope somebody from Heart reads it,I presume they follow the thread to see what people are saying. I know that people high up in Deal Or No Deal follow that thread and occasionally contribute to it.

I would like to hear some stuff like that too but it seems the only Whitney record they've got is I Wanna Dance With Somebody.
'I'm Every Woman', 'How Will I Know?', 'So Emotional', 'Saving All My Love', 'I Have Nothing' and 'Didn't We Almost Have It All?' have all been played by Heart over the last 30 days.
And as for Madonna it's Papa Don't Preach,True Blue or Like A Prayer.
Or 'Vogue', 'Into the Groove', 'Holiday', 'La Isla Bonita', 'Crazy for You', 'Open Your Heart', 'Express Yourself', ... - again, all played over the last 30 days.

The Heart bashing is so tedious; if you don't like the choice tune out. Most of the whiners on here seem to be outside the target demographic anyway.

I'm looking forward to the new national retro station whenever it launches; I'm betting it will be a brand extension to Heart which would be logical given that loads of stations have extra or offshoot stations now.

Well, saying they've been played over the last thirty days is one thing,I don't doubt that's true. I know Express Yourself was played,it was on the Time Tunnel one night, that's how I knew right away the year was 1989. (I was a huge Madonna fan back in the day.) I don't listen to Heart 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I can only go by what I hear, the two nights a week I listen to it,which does not include the Sunday night, when the eighties show is on,and the three Madonna tracks I mentioned seem to crop up more often than the others you mentioned. Also, does Madonna's career stop at 1990? On that playlist,it does.

But all of this is academic. Clearly Heart is not designed for me,and I'm not in the target demographic,so as somebody else said,I should stop whining about it and listen to something else.

Natalie Imbruglia -Torn,and Bill Medley - The Time Of My Life, they were good records.

But there is only so many times I want to listen to them.

Loving the all 80s. Difference With Radio 2 all 80s with Sara ' is having interviews with 80's idols which global could do too make the show different. ' instead it's the music that talks.

Without wishing to appear as if I'm rocking the boat could I just ask why it is that VERY NEARLY all the fans of Heart and Smooth feel they have to be so abrupt and in certain cases down right pig ignorant when replying to folk who don't like the stations ???

You like the station I'm genuinely pleased for you but sadly very many don't

We all have the right to comment but at least let's be civil
Indeed I notice that one of the posters on THIS thread who ACTUALLY WORKS for Global has requested that another poster stop posting comments that are out of order and wildly inaccurate
PLEASE let's try to get on
Otherwise posts are removed

I would rather listen to Radio 2,it plays all the records that Radio 1 used to play back in the day. But during the night there is way too much chat on Radio 2 for my liking, believe me,when you're packing shelves, you don't want to hear some long discussion about somebody's album and how it was recorded and so on and some funny story about something that happened at a gig or whatever. You just want music.

I agree that we should all get on but the abusive, arrogant and ignorant posts are on both sides of the argument.

Totally agree and things have improved
I think you are aware of the main culprit though who it has to be said WAS actually on the pro rather than the anti side and whose antics did make things considerably worse than they should have been ... Not that I'm saying some of the antis (me included)did at times wrongly rise to his bait which I'm more than happy to apologise for !!
I for one will be interested in the next set of RAJAR's as by then the bedding in and rebrand time will be well and truly over and bar anymore takeovers the Heart and Smooth networks will be complete

Funny link on Heart yesterday about 2.40 PM, the jock came on waffled something about a song then said "if your making plans for the weekend, here's something to put in your diary" He then went on to plug Jason Donovan, I could imagine people pulling out their organisers all over the Uk and writing that must not miss event
Do you think that a listener has at any time in the history of radio heard about a show and put it in a diary of any description. I wonder how that phrase originated.

It probably came from the same person who thought it would be a good idea to constantly tell listeners to "stand by". No one seemed to explain what object they should place themselves next to though.

By the way I had to read the first line of your post a few times. I've never seen the words "funny link on Heart" in that order before.

Kind of meant is it a Heart requirement for all breakfast presenters to have the same week off?

Garry and Lisa on Heart NE are off for 2 weeks thats this week and next week

Jamie and Emma tend to take 2 weeks off so it coincides with the August bank holiday they'll be off from the 11th and will return on the 26th

Heart Home Counties Breakfast and Drivetime are different right across the network. It doesn't matter if holidays coincides with eachother.

That's correct
There's also the fact that if the presenters have got kids they may have to have hols in August as if you take the little ones out in school term you can be fined serious cash

How do you define "plenty"? How do you know how much they earn or are you just speculating?

I am sure they will be earning "plenty" though, as breakfast is always better paid than the other shifts, and Heart is a big name and a regional stations in a lot of areas.
