Personally I couldn't care less where 'Jane' or 'Lisa' or other callers live. The accent is generally a clue if you're really interested.
Traffic reports however are a completely different thing. |

All About That Bass and the other tracks I mentioned are on the nationwide Heart daytime playlist now. That's what I'm saying - looks like they might be changing things up a bit.

Shame they didn't remove John Legends all of me such an over played track this is the 2nd time I've heard it today since just after 9am
But if you think that's bad, look at Capital FM..they played Sam Smith 500 times in the last 30 days. That's about 17 times a day,or very nearly one every hour. Rude by Magic was played 318 times,or about eleven times every day. Listening to Capital (which I don't) must be even more repetitive than Heart, which is saying something. I have no idea how commercial radio works and how the stations decide what records to play, and how often to play them. But playing the same records again and again does not make for a very interesting listening experience. It's "safe" radio - we know our target market likes these records and these artists,so we'll just keep on playing them..and keep on playing them. |

I don't understand how they are playing this track but they completely ignored Ed Sheeran's Sing one of the biggest tracks of the year and they play his other tracks to death. No logic ???

I don't think Sing has ever been played on the Heart network. It looks like they went with back catalogue and Thinking Out Loud. Quite brave, as it wasn't a single - but seems to have worked out quite well.

John Legend's all of me has had 137 plays on heart London in the past 30 days, though Heart East Midlands leads the way having played it 147 times of all the Global stations Capital FM has played it 160 times in 30 days which averages out at 5 times per day its about time global eased down on the song now given its a year old

I need to correct you there fella. Sing hasn't been scheduled on Heart. It's only an active title during the BT40.

It's the second fastest selling single of the year behind Rather Be, they usually play those big selling songs ie like Blurred Lines last year

I'm surprised Heart have added it so early I thought it would have been something they would play more once it had left the top slot. Quote:

At least two of those songs get semi-regular airplay. Nightcrawlers and Livin' Joy I am 100% sure I have heard on Heart numerous times; I'd also be fairly confident I'd heard C&C Music Factory but am prepared to be proved wrong on that.

I can't say I've ever heard Nightcrawlers on Heart, possibly C&C Music Factory but I think I'd remember. |
