That song has (somehow?) made it to the Radio 2 playlist too.

Many people don't live where they originally come from nowadays though do they so an accent means nothing. I think I understand where some people are coming from though Heart just seem to make such a point of hiding people's location, now that they cover maybe two thirds of country it wouldn't hurt for them to admit that it's not a local station for local people.

I don't understand how they are playing this track but they completely ignored Ed Sheeran's Sing one of the biggest tracks of the year and they play his other tracks to death. No logic ???

According to Compare My Radio (a great website anyone interested in radio playlists should have a look at),Heart played All Of Me 140 or so times in the last 30 days (there are very small differences between the various Hearts). So that's basically four or five times a day, every day. I suppose that's not so bad if you're only listening for an hour or so,but if you're doing a nightshift, and the radio's on all night, you do get a bit fed up with hearing it again and again. Then add in Sam Smith,he was played 277 times in the last 30 days...last night on Heart we heard John Legend twice and both the Sam Smith songs twice. It does get very repetitive.

But if you think that's bad, look at Capital FM..they played Sam Smith 500 times in the last 30 days. That's about 17 times a day,or very nearly one every hour. Rude by Magic was played 318 times,or about eleven times every day. Listening to Capital (which I don't) must be even more repetitive than Heart, which is saying something.

I have no idea how commercial radio works and how the stations decide what records to play, and how often to play them. But playing the same records again and again does not make for a very interesting listening experience.

It's "safe" radio - we know our target market likes these records and these artists,so we'll just keep on playing them..and keep on playing them.

Was it on the local shows as I don't get to hear those much it was definitely not ever on the networked shows in the daytime ?

I don't think Sing has ever been played on the Heart network. It looks like they went with back catalogue and Thinking Out Loud. Quite brave, as it wasn't a single - but seems to have worked out quite well.

I need to correct you there fella. Sing hasn't been scheduled on Heart. It's only an active title during the BT40.

John Legend's all of me has had 137 plays on heart London in the past 30 days, though Heart East Midlands leads the way having played it 147 times of all the Global stations Capital FM has played it 160 times in 30 days which averages out at 5 times per day its about time global eased down on the song now given its a year old

I stand corrected then! Should have checked radiomonitor first but was certain I'd heard it several times, must be getting forgetful in my old age.

Apologies simonk243

Yeah I knew it hadn't been played. Surprised it wasn't added later after release like they do with some tracks extremely popular song this year?

They're the same, yes. CompareMyRadio isn't always 100% accurate.

It's the second fastest selling single of the year behind Rather Be, they usually play those big selling songs ie like Blurred Lines last year

Heart don't go on sales otherwise it would play many other big selling songs.

I think All About the Bass is going to be a big selling song of the year. Although it's Number 1 at the moment I think it'll probably hang around for a while (watch it drop down the chart like a heavy rock now!).

I'm surprised Heart have added it so early I thought it would have been something they would play more once it had left the top slot.

I think that song is a good fit for Heart - is it just on evenings or daytimes as well?

Would love to hear some more new 90's dance heart seem to like club classics from the 90's but play the same tunes.
Would be good to hear.
Nomad - Devotion
Nightcrawlers - Push the feeling on
Kym Syms - Too blind to see it
C & C music factory - Gonna make you sweat
Living Joy - Don't stop moving
Bassomatic - Fascinating rhythm
JX - There's nothing I won't do

Just for starters.
All massive hits

At least two of those songs get semi-regular airplay. Nightcrawlers and Livin' Joy I am 100% sure I have heard on Heart numerous times; I'd also be fairly confident I'd heard C&C Music Factory but am prepared to be proved wrong on that.

Living Joy "dreamer" gets played but not "don't stop moving"
I can't say I've ever heard Nightcrawlers on Heart, possibly C&C Music Factory but I think I'd remember.
