If they had any sense they would switch to the excellent local BBC stations full of local info
the only true local stations left theat truely care about the areas they broadcast to.Although looking at the Broadcast Forum most people will equate the TV licence to funding BBC TV, does anyone really think that BBC LR will survive if relys on adverts, or reduced licence fee? Then when it is too late, and they are stuck on some 'B' road. they wonder why neither the BBC or Heart have mentioned the affect of snow because the roads to the studio in Norwich or Milton Keynes were fine. |

Thought I'd listen in to Chris Marston this morning on the new Heart East Anglia...quite suprised as it really just seemed a relay of the old Heart Norfolk with hardly any mention of anywhere in Suffolk except the odd token town name slipped in here and there..the news was dire..thought there was supposed to be an imoroved news service with the stations being amalgamated. Chris Marston sounds so bored, really poor compared to the former Heart Suffolk presenters.

I noticed the news on Friday covered stories that were more Norfolk/Suffolk border related - but then they're not always going to be so lucky!
A couple of weeks ago there was a bulletin broadcast in Suffolk which was purely Norfolk related...! Generally it's a shame that from Monday Suffolk is going to get Rob & Chrissie... from previous listening I thought they were past their best! |

Rob and Chrissie are number one at breakfast(and have been for the eleven years they've been together), no mean feat when you consider the competition and marketing budget afforded to R1 and R2 so clearly a long way from being past their best. Matt and Sarah are only about number 5 in their patch. No brainer keeping R & C on. To have given the gig to M & S would be suicide, they barely have a profile in Suffolk never mind any whatsoever in Norfolk.

Oops, my bad! I didn't realise personal opinion required a citation from Rajar!
I'm sure the numbers will be good and I know that Rob certainly has some following in Suffolk having been on BBC Radio Suffolk of a Saturday until recently. (oh, and his stint at Town102!) It's good to see they have their supporters though! |

Listeners in the East of Hertfordshire (part of the old Ten-17 TSA) will be a little bemused by the replacement station now pronouncing "Good morning Essex" and news stories which discuss stories which impact "Essex". Hertfordshire doesn't exist on 101.7 now.

Tuned in this morning to Matt & Sarah to find they had gone. Gutted. The new couple sounded really dreary in comparison.
Is there another channel for suffolk i can tune into ? |

You could try Town 102, maybe BBC Suffolk?
I wonder if Matt and Sarah will move to a rival radio channel ? |

As others have stated R&C have had the No1 rated Brekky Show in Norfolk and North Suffolk for years, a lot better results that Matt & Sarah had on the Suffolk station. I think its a shame that Rob has had to stop his Radio Suffolk show on a Saturday because that was good...
check the facts and look back over the last 3 years . Rob & C are good at being very safe-if you like that you will love them. |

Breakfast radio in Suffolk is a tough choice for the big story of the day it has to be radio Suffolk as they do news in a decent way...but the presenter has been their since Cliff Richard was middle aged and is dull..Town 102 has a breakfast show that few choose but at least its done in Ipswich ...their travel news is better than the Beeb...

But how long can we rely on that?

I was listening to Heart Sussex this afternoon for a little while and surprised to here Taio Cruz Dynamite, another song that I would have never expected to hear on Heart.
Also I see that in the Heart schedule Gareth John is now listed for 1am-6am, so it looks like they may have binned the overnight Club Classics ![]() I was actually talking to someone who was in favour of the Mercury rebrand to Heart and was looking forward to some older songs being played on 102.7. After having Heart on through the night at work, they soon cottoned on to the fact that there was no DJ there and 'the same CD was being played every night'. Said person is bored of the Club Classics and Heart already because the selection of old songs is too repetitive.
