As much as it hurts me to say this. Heart is improving and the late show is good with Zoe Hardman too. So well done global.

Well hold the front page!

Why do people feel the need for this sort of post. As and when you tune in, such information becomes obvious.

It seems Heart is ignoring Little Mix's Black Magic. Which is a great shame.

It's an absolutely fantastic record,a different class from most pop these days. (And the video's brilliant as well.)

Presumably it doesn't test well,or fit in with the Heart demographic or something.

Last night on the overnight show we heard "Love Me Like You Do" at about 1.30am.

Then after 5am the presenter started talking about the new James Bond theme and I thought, this sounds like a lead up to playing that Ellie Goulding record again. Indeed it was. I couldn't take listening to that record again so at that point we gonged Heart off and put on Forth One instead.

Forth One isn't a brilliant station but at least the playlist extends further than twelve records.

Comparemyradio would disagree with you on that one, but nonetheless it confuses me, when your posts consistently imply that you and your colleagues feel Forth One is a superior station to Heart (which, interestingly, came after you insisted that the only reason you listened to Heart was because you couldn't get any other station at work), why you don't just listen to Forth One as your main station and be done with it? Why do you keep ending up back on Heart?

Well,on a Friday and Saturday night up until about 1 or 2am,Forth One plays dance music, and I use the word music loosely there, because most of it is basically unlistenable as far as I'm concerned. I think most of the stuff in the charts now is rubbish anyway,so the last thing I want to listen to is six minute extended versions of them featuring more drum noises. Anytime we have tried listening to that it wasn't long before somebody would shout something like,"Turn that f*****g sh**e" off!"

And the Time Tunnel on Heart at 2am is usually quite good. If nothing else at least you'll get a few records off the normal playlist.

After that we could turn over to Forth One but as I've said the reception often isn't great,it can vary from day to day. So usually we just end up having to listen to Heart the whole night.

The other problem with switching stations is because the playlists are similar,if you turn over from Heart because you can't face listening to Ed Sheeran yet again, there's every chance he'll turn up ten minutes later on Forth One,and it's not feasible to keep running up and changing the channel back and forth all the time.

At least Forth One plays Little Mix!

I would kill for a chr format station on my fm dial.

I've looked at forth one and they play some great songs we don't get on heart.

Though heart has been trying much harder lately lots more new music and songs off the normal playlist.

Was listening to Heart on Sky earlier on and heard JK and Lucy on the Drive time. They do a really good show and would definately have the breakfast show in London if it wasnt for Emma Bunton and Jamie being such big names

Thanks for that. Wasn't sure how it worked outside the London area. Is it the same for all stations that have local breakfast and drive. I live in Surrey so don't know.

There isn't currently a regional variant in place for radio stations on Sky, bar showing/hiding BBC London on 0152 (based on the same mechanism that guides whether you see BBC One London on 101 or not); currently, most of those radio stations which have multiple variants in existence (Heart, Capital, Smooth, Xfm) currently carry one service, usually the London version, on TV platforms. (Stations without a London outpost that have broadcast on satellite in the past have included Real Radio, which put its Wales station on Sky before Global came calling, and Galaxy Digital which was based on and at the Yorkshire station...)

In theory (assuming the option's available for radio, which it may not be), Global could do what the likes of ITV do and take up enough capacity to squirt all their variants into the sky, then acquire the 'conditional access' from Sky to get each postcode the right version on 0111, but it'd probably be a pricey faff given the bulk of local-area listeners and advertisers are drawn from the FM and DAB platforms...

I did wonder if it was the same, particularly on Freeview. Although with Heart, I noticed the ad breaks are different. Heart Digital?

Hearts really got a national breakfast and drive show with Jamie and Emma and JK and Lucy but it's only based on London listeners

Will it be a one off or is it now on 10 times a day for the next year?

I shall learn all the words so I can sing along if it comes on when I'm at work.

Actually I know most of the words already.

"Take a sip of my secret potion
I'll make you fall in love.."

I love the bit in the video when Jade's in the libary and the spell book comes off the shelf and knocks her on the head and she completely overdoes her fall on the floor,it's really funny.

I seem to have drifted a bit off topic.

Hopefully somewhere between those two extremes.

It is a really good record.

I much prefer that sort of upbeat pop to the likes of Sheeran/Smith/Bay/Goulding/Sande etc, which seem to be massively popular at the moment.

Lord knows why.

Have to add that Heart has improved so much since I last listened. Global have really pulled all the stops out with Heart; 90s at 9, Happy Hour etc. It sounds brilliant, less repetitive and I find myself dipping in more and more.

Heart East Anglia's breakfast and drive shows are also quite good too. Nice one!

That is the reason I hate Heart and to an extent the other stations who rotate those artists really highly. You see Little Mix could be in high rotation like Uptown Funk and not get THAT dull because it is an upbeat pop song.

The stuff like Bay and Sam Smith bores you to death in high rotation and that is why I switch over now when they come on.
