I did wonder if it was the same, particularly on Freeview. Although with Heart, I noticed the ad breaks are different. Heart Digital?
And on DAB if you are in a area which doesn't have Heart on FM you get the London version

Heart was regional on Freeview when it was just London, West Mids and East Mids. Other areas got 'Heart Digital', which was a separate automated service.

Now everyone gets the national/London feed.

Have to add that Heart has improved so much since I last listened. Global have really pulled all the stops out with Heart; 90s at 9, Happy Hour etc. It sounds brilliant, less repetitive and I find myself dipping in more and more.

Heart East Anglia's breakfast and drive shows are also quite good too. Nice one!
A few songs are still getting over played though Taylor Swift's shake it off being one of them

Yes but that's skewed by CHR stations like Capital which only play current hits. You need to compare Heart with other stations which play older stuff like Radio 2, Magic and Absolute. Heart looks pretty narrow in its playlist when you do that.

Heart has improved their "feel good" factor about the station, which is what the station's aim is anyway. Love the mix of older and fairly current stuff. Well done Heart.

Is Victoria Leigh still on Heart Cornwall? I have tried twice to listen to her this month but Matt has been on instead.

Ah thanks. Yes I seem to recall Matt saying she was just having the day off the other week. So yes, I can listen again when I next get a weekday off work.

Not yet. The former GCap stations are still running more recent/chart music during local shows compared to London, West Mids and the former Real stations. They can apply to change this now though under the new Ofcom music formats.

I'd be surprised if they did as in the last few months there has been more new music than ever on heart

There seems to be much more older music in the networked hours now; I'm guessing it's following the London playlist rather than the more contemporary one it used to. Sounds much better for it

That is the feeling of what was passing my ears at work.

Network hours covering what for some is the work day.
However can they not see the irony of Queen - Radio Ga Ga?

There is more say 80s music and the same classics as the networked shows compared to what there used to be. But i wouldn't say there's more older music in general.

The playlist still differs from the London there are many chart songs that feature on the local shows that you don't hear on London shows years and years for e.g.

Wonder where Victoria Leigh will go? It's a hell of a commute from Cornwall to Exeter to broadcast to Cornwall.

That's quite a coup for Global and a big loss for Pirate FM.... There's more to this story methinks...

What's going on with heart four Counties herts/beds/bucks joined with northants when the number of local stations were cut.

Recently I've noticed most of the travel reports no longer contain northants same with the news. Same with the djs do they record seperate links when they say "hello bedford" etc ? Not that I mind it was a ridiculously big area to cover.

Do they just share a breakfast show now ?

I will be saddened if Victoria loses her Heart job. I occasionally listen to her online after hearing her on holiday in Cornwall a few years ago.
