Do all heart stations play the same music all the time now, there used to be some difference on local shows but I've noticed when I've switched between my local station and London (out of network hours) there playing the exact same songs at the same time ?

Yes, the recent format changes mean all Heart stations can take the London playlist during local shows. The ex-Gcap stations used to play a lot more newer music during local shows.

Network crashed at 14:24. 10 secs of silence then the old classic broken strings kicked in, although didn't work well what with it being the happy hour!

Haaaaa.
I just think they have better things to do than get into a debate about an isolated technical problem on one site.
Which I'm aware I'm now doing.

I don't recall any of the "yes men" (which is a ridiculous term) ever claiming that Heart is completely immune from technical difficulties.

Loads of radio stations have technical problems; I've heard recordings for prerecorded content going out live on Heat, and regular silences and gaps and curtailed songs on Jack FM Surrey, but people only ever seem to moan when Heart has a technical glitch.

On the bright side, that's a whole hour without an Ed Sheeran record.

So that makes is all right then??

You think shoddy output is acceptable!

The thing is, no one seems to learn from this amateurism, when in this day and age, with technology available, it should be easy enough to sound professional!

It's because a lot,of shows have links prerecorded hence when something goes wrong you'll hear the news repeat itself or talking over a jingle

What would you expect them to say?

It's pretty obvious that anything involving technology is going to have the odd technical glitch. It happens to every radio station at some time or another. Even Radio 1 and Radio have suffered from them. I seem to recall a mistake being made on a pre recorded show not that long ago on Radio 2. It happens and it's no big deal.
