No adverts would mean no revenue so that's not going to happen. Personally if it were allowed I would prefer more ad breaks for shorter sequences. Sometimes the ad breaks on stations like Heart go on for ages. It would be instant tune off for me but I know that if I found another station their ad breaks would be at the same time as Heart's, same on Tv channels so you can't escape!

Head of Playlist? Blimey, I almost feel sorry for the guy now.

That explains why he defends the output so much though!!

Seriously, what is it with you, not only do you behave like the PR/Advertiser of Global, but you sit and defend their employee and even go as far as to remind people who he is as if it's some sort of badge of honour. You don't work for them but come across as rather eager to please them, just what do you get out of it?!

And what's it for? If it's to fill in the gaps in the Heart footprint nationally, why isn't it the same mix as Heart?

As above, Mmm i'm a bit confused about heart extra, what is it's purpose. Why is it only different between 9am and 7pm, then carries the same schedule.

I Was hoping a new heart station might of been a bit more contemporary in terms of playlist instead it seems the opposite with more emphasis on older tracks though i like the addition of some classic tracks not on the normal heart playlist.

On another subject i'm surprised to hear Grace and Elle King on heart they really don't fit in with the rest of the sound and feel of the playlist which is uplifting they sound out of place. It was the same with hoozier and george ezra. Just surprised that these tracks would appeal to a typical heart listener and test well.

This runs from 10am to 4pm that means they'll have to play 16 songs each hour

I'm going to Bath for a short break soon. I was checking up on what stations I could receive and found that I can enjoy four versions of Heart all broadcast from the same local transmitter:

Heart Bath
Heart Wiltshire
Heart Bristol
Heart Extra

That makes me feel quite sorry for the residents of Bath!

For the large amount of capacity available on the four muxes receiveable in Bath there is a tiny choice in stations, with Smooth & Capital (two versions of each) being the only other commercial stations not on D1.

Still here in Bath - has something changed this morning? Rescanned the radio and the Heart stations now have their own identifiers:

Heart BS
Heart BT
Heart WL
Heart EX

I wasn't imagining it - Heart stations back home have relabelled as well:

Heart Kt
Heart Ln
Heart sx
Heart 4C

And Capital is now:

Capital UK (on Essex & HBB Muxes)

On Heart South West it seems a bit weird the former drive time presenters (Vic and Olivia) are still hanging around doing the travel news.

That's nice about Vix hanging around. I hope she starts another radio show of her own again soon.
