I can imagine they are on a vastly different shift rate; so Jenni wouldn't need to (or even want to)

So she would be on air from 4am till 6, up at what, 2am. Home for a few hours kip then back at the studio mid afternoon for a drive time show. Home at 8 perhaps, quick meal then off to bed.

Would YOU fancy doing that, even just for a week?

This isn't something which happens all that often remember heart London have far more cover presenters available to them than regional's do

Joel Ross did breakfast in Birmingham and covering for Roberto 7pm to 10pm from London for 2 weeks a few years back just imagine what time he was getting back to Birmingham from London then back on air from 6am

How many Heart frequencies do all of you pick up, I get 96.6 (My Local One), 97.6 and 106.2 plus the 3 I get on DAB (4 Counties, Extra and London). It seems theres no getting away from it!

FM
102.7 peterborough (localish one)
103.0 cambridge
103.3 milton keynes
96.9 bedford
97.6 dunstable
96.6 northampton
106.2 london (can be heard just about through the static regularly)

DAB
heart peterborough
heart cambridge
heart extra

thats way too much of the same networked turgid shite for me.
surely they cant be allowed to have all these frequencies when most of what they have overlap.
in my area (peterborough) we have it in 102.7 but the signal on 96.9 from bedford aint that much worse and 103 cambridge aint that far behind that.
actually 96.9 from bedford can reach to at least give or take a little half way between peterborough and doncaster.

Emma's going on Maternity leave so could be Stephen and Emma as temp and Jamie and Emma B long term? Wouldn't have thought they'd have had JK & Lucy followed by another double act

I get;

105.1 (Cornwall)
97.0 (Devon - Plymouth)
101.2/101.9 (Devon - South Hams)
and sometimes 103.0 (Devon - Exeter)

Devon is an odd county for Heart as it comprises 5 different licence areas (Plymouth Sound / Gemini Exeter / Gemini Torbay / Lantern / South Hams Radio) - any other counties have as many? They still have localisers for Breakfast etc saying "Waking up Plymouth / Exeter etc)

Heart kicked off with Outcast Heya. London cut off the end and Sussex just let it play to the end. Any reason why they do that?

The song order is decided centrally but the local presenters decide when to play them

Also odd that South Hams Radio's area is pretty much covered by either Heart Torbay or Heart Plymouth, this station was more along the lines of Palm or Radio X as an alternative to the main stations so don't get how Global managed to get away with branding this as Heart without the competition authorities getting involved, I guess it was so tiny that nobody noticed.

The South Hams transmitters are pretty much just needed to fill the weak signal gap between Torbay and Plymouth.

Torbay and Plymouth only about 30 miles apart so was always strange to licence another station between these two.
