To hog slots. Prevents others from having them. Also more saturation means they'll more likely get a rajar tick.

Yes heart often add tracks weeks even months after there release but that's heart sometimes they'll play a track as soon as it's released like lady gaga and ellie Goulding two examples recently. Then like you say they have started playing calvin/Rihanna I also heard kungs and Jonas blue yesterday which have all been around for a while.

Good on Heart for new tracks but it can be very inconsistent

No, you test songs in rolling research studies. When the audience are familiar enough with them/like them, then they go on.

Yes i understand how heart works, there testing of songs etc

But if you read my post and one of my points was that sometimes heart plays tracks as soon as they are released like recently with lady gaga and ellie goulding surely they couldnt of had much time to of been tested

Its called "this is what you came for"

Another two new tracks today James Arthur and Emile Sande, i dont think I have ever known heart add so many tracks in such a short space of time and to add them on the day of release is quite unusal for heart.

Great if ths continues.

When heart plays 80s time tunnel my volume goes up and smile. I know many listeners don't enjoy that era but it's brilliant.

All I hear is 80s churned out.
Look I was 11 in 1980, grew up with 80s music. It is 2016, the 80s were 26 years ago! How much longer will they try to get away with 30 year old music.

I was wondering that will stations still be playing 80s music in 10 to 15 years time.

It was a good decade for music.

The 80s was one of the best decades for music in my opinion; huge tunes and artists... was the decade that changed music and helped to create what we have in the industry today. Many artists are looking to follow in the footsteps of 80s artists with their music and their success.

I agree, 10-15 years time stations like Heart will begin to move away from the 80s, which is sad, but I guess the same has happened with the 60's and 70's.

Clearly been paid to promote those tracks by the record labels and make them exclusives. The addition of the Lady Gaga track so soon to release is quite unusual too. Normally Top 40 hits take a while to get to the Heart playlist.

Of course! This is how it works on commercial radi, You know that.

The reason the Sande track is on Heart before release is because she is doing a gig for Heart real soon.

I wonder if we'll see a new Heart website soon.. Capital had their new one in place back in March, the mobile sites were unveiled earlier this year too and LBC have just released their new look.

Would be good considering their site has stayed, pretty much, the same for about 5 or 6 years.
