What's happened to Paul Bunker then?
Always thought he was good.

Perhaps he quit. People do sometimes choose to leave their current job. Despite what you read on here not everyone isn't sacked in some evil cull and marched off the premises before the end of the 10am news.

"Exploring new opportunities" I believe was the wording.

So JK and Lucy are taking over South Coast Breakfast from Monday, i wonder if thats JK of JK and Joel fame and Lucy Ellis who has been deputising a lot recently on the network?

I would not be surprised if Paul appears on the network before long, by what he just said he is not leaving Heart and will be popping up at times.

Sounded like weekend breakfast to me. Unless I misheard.
And also cover work.

If I remember the last time I looked the variety gauge was at 13% so it's improved a fair bit.

Look at it again. I think that is only a week of output, 2.500 tracks played in a month?
if you played 14 songs an hour for 24 hours you would have 336 tracks a day, or 2,352 tracks a week.

Ofcom were supposed to create choice....Great, if you want a choice of frequencies that carry Heart, but pretty useless if you want much else.
Ofcom, like most other QUANGOs, will have been lobbied to death about this, no doubt ruling parties also. I share your distress.

Ofcom are a total waste of money & need abolishing.
Well, perhaps, but what are you proposing to replace it with - a free for all would end up with just one or two groups completely dominating radio. People would cry foul and restriction of trade if a more muscular regulator was introduced. Usually the people calling for the abolition of Ofcom are people who want the former - I'm not sure that's what you want.

Maybe an independent panel of ex-presenters, programme controllers and others related to radio should help guide OFCOM in their direction?

I think the reduction of any sort of quality commercial radio will continue for some time to come.

How come Toby Anstis goes on air in London at 9am and the rest of the network from 10? Why can't the breakfast presenters on Heart London keep going until 10 like the rest of the network?

Also at the weekends why does the Network 6am-8am jock stay on London till 9, then the breakfast presenter till 12? (Why can't they just do the same as the network?)

Also, remember...London has older music logs during the local shows...

Toby is doing the time tunnel this morning on all the stations. Not sure if it's live or not.

When are any of his links truely live? I've heard from several people that he records them and then plays them out live... I don't know if its true or not - but I do notice when he does a live link for a competition he does mess up frequently.

Breakfast 6-9am on all networks and now Toby is doing the Time Tunnel from 9am on all networks. So he does 9am-1pm?

I bet someone else takes over his weekend show soon?

I was tuning between Sussex and Surrey 102.7 & 103.2 and London 106.2 and the time tunnel was exactly the same. I know in some areas you won't be able to pick up two or three frequencies, but couldn't Hear run different Time Tunnels from London?
