I know that 102.8FM is a Heart station. Though I must say, that 97.4, 97.6, 102.6, 102.7 and 102.8 are a bit weak in my area.

I tried scanning for stations further north than Leicester, but to no avail. But even so, I do live in Northamptonshire, albeit a very strong signal area.

But the main point is that there's so much Heart on the FM band, and nothing much else! (unless you like BBC R1-4, that is, which I can receive off multiple frequencies.)

Didn't I hear it last week on Ken Bruce?

Heart won't risk new music, but see how it performs on other stations.

No doubt heart will play it too much like Adele so we will hear this song in Jan 2014 probably.

Wow! That's a lot of Heart!!!!
In fact, to compare it to my other most-used station, Capital, I cn receive Capital on:

Capital FM 105.4
Oh wow. What a load of choice!”

Its terrible I feel your pain. Can you also not hear the amazing choice that is Touch 96.2 (formerly Kix 96), Touch 102 (was The Bear), Touch 107.1, Free Radio 97.0 (was Mercia FM) and Banbury Sound that might as well be Touch 107.6?

And that's what annoys me with Tabor and his henchmen/machine, he's very cleverly made sure he has monopoly over the FM dial to ensure there is no choice out there, sure, one or two Hearts is okay, but several, even if they're overlaps from other areas is just taking the piss

Stephen Mulhern and Emma Willis are covering Breakfast for Jamie and Emma on Heart London during Half Term week.

I do agree, although how many heritage ILR station would remain today. Many were barely turning a profit in the 80s and 90s. I saw a comment from David Lloyd that it was often said Midlands Radio Plc made more money from leasing some parking spaces and the Coke vending machine at Leicester Sound than they did from the radio business.

Something to ponder as we head into a tripple dip recession.

Yeah and Tabor comes wading in with his daddy's money just at the right time, he's very calculating and devious, he doesn't care about the listener, all he cares about is making his money and competing with the BBC!

I guess it depends on where in Northamptonshire you are, but in the part I am about to move to, I really enjoy Connect FM, and there are parts of the county that can just get the excellent Mix 96 on a good day.

It's called business. Perhaps more listeners should try a lovely local station instead. Like Southend Radio - automated/networked more than Heart?

You've made this point before, the record's stuck

Anyway, I listen to Radio Jackie and Magic AM

Radio Jackie has no networking and is much better than Heart could ever hope to be, Magic AM while networked, the second point is correct for me again

Delighted that you've finally found a station you enjoy. Perhaps you'll cease your bitter, creepy campaign against Ashley now?

I cannot receive any of those stations on my FM radio. Probably because I'm out of their service area - but what choice!

You're near where I am - I can receive Connect FM (on 97.2 and 107.4 FM) perfectly.

Mix 96 - is that on 96.0 FM? Don't think I can receive that.

I heard Moves Like Jagger and Mr. Know It All pre-release on Heart FM as well.

Also Jar of Hears, it was already released, but Heart were playing it before it climbed into the charts. Another one is Count on Me by Bruno Mars.

On a totally different note, Mark Wright has the personality of a flannel on the radio: the only good thing about him on TV is that he's pretty.

I noticed on Friday night that he didn't introduce the 7pm news himself: is this usual with the news before club classics: maybe Mark can't say: "This is Heart: here's the latest" in a suitable manner for the news?!

Can someone please explain to me how Heart in the different areas have to fit in with the playlist for the heritage stations they rebranded from? People suggest in some areas the songs have to be AC and in some it has to be Hot AC, if Heart is networked, how can they achieve this except for the local shows? I do 'drop in' a listen every now and then to find out what they're playing, but this question is really bugging me..??

The heritage Hot AC stations play 3-4 hours of continuous Hot AC at Breakfast and Drive to bring the quota up.

I guessed it had to be the local shows they achieved it in

He's completely voice-tracked and they probably forgot to record the link

I've heard this term many times, what is voice-tracked???

Voice tracked is when a presenter records all of the links for one show in advance, and they are programmed into a computer for play out. Many smaller groups use the technique when one presenter hosts shows on different stations. So, for example, Danny DJ could do a live breakfast show on Big Town FM and then also appear to to drive on Countyshire Sound.

This is different from Smart Networking, whereby the main output is live - in real time - and the presenter records a series of drop in links for different areas. This is used by Capital, Heart and Smooth.

In turn, this is different from simply pre recording a show in real time for later play out. This technique is more common for, say Radio 2 shows.
