Local weekend shows haven't moved to the evening. They have moved to the afternoon (Saturday 1-5pm and Sunday 12-4pm).

Heart seem to playing around the weekend schedules to see how they sound. Subject to change with in 6 to 12 months. Listeners don't really care who's speaking from the mic as the music is what they want. I seem Ben Jones is on weekdays and Nicola Bonn weekends on All 80's, whilst Margherita is on Sunday Afternoons and cover on Breakfast etc..

Yep, same one. He also does occasional cover on the BBC Radio 2 Nightshift.

Did it affect national logs and/or WM?

Why on earth do we have to have a simulcast of the Vodafone Top 40 on Heart London when it is already on Capital London?

I can understand the simulcast in areas where Heart is the only source for the broadcast, but common sense should dictate that in areas such as London it is ridiculous to have a simulcast; in any case the Vodafone Top 40 does not even fit in with Heart's target audience or playlist.

Anyone have an explanation for Global Radio's thinking on this?

Isn't it all about maximising revenue on a single show?

Big Top 40 Show saturated over UKRD, Global & what used to be Tindle here in the East at 4pm on a Sunday is not maximising as if you aren't into the Top 40 you will switch elsewhere.

Personally I am happy to listen to either KLFM, Norwich 99.9 and occassional Heart at other times but I am no longer into the Top 40 so I always switch over to R2, Smooth UK or Gold at 4pm on a Sunday.

Yes but if stations get a cut of the network revenue, surely they're more likely to buy in?

This topic came up a week or so ago, and the "usual suspects" swerved it then......there is a reason, but they wont admit to it on here

I've said this any times, Global could easily put an 80s show on Heart during the Top40, for me it's not very creative on Global's part to simulcast it on two London stations

And at the time, I asked you to explain "the real reason". So come on - what is it?

Some of the stations they took over still have to incorporate a certain percentage of current, or chart hits within the week, so Heart get them all in via this show.......yet another "cheap shot"

That way, they can keep rotating the same old boring songs for the rest of the week!

Right. So what you are suggesting is that...

Heart is sticking to its format.

And yet you STILL manage to turn that into a negative.

Well done.

(Also, how do you explain UKRD and Tindle stations taking the Top 40 when local competition does the same thing?)

The 67% current/recurrent quota* is measured on a daily basis, they can't load it all up at the weekend.

I'm certain they make up the daily quota by playing a lot of new stuff during local breakfast & drive, it's a different playlist to the London & WM stations during these times.

* tracks recorded within the last two years.

Interesting. Sounds like at least one poster is making things up. I wonder which one

Incorrect.

The Heart Network has two different music logs. London and the West Midlands have a different log to the rest of the network (which is skewed younger). Network hours are the same but local hours are very different. 'SouthCity' is pretty much spot on with his reply.

So.....come, on , why take the Top 40 if it is at odds with the usual fodder?

Also you make out theres a lot of difference in the logs, when 17 of the 24 hours a day are the same surely?

Mate, you've been we'll and truly busted by the facts. Now, how about explaining why Tindle and UKRD stations take the top 40 in places where there are already heritage ILRs doing the same?

Tell me it's not about maximising coverage, and therefore revenue - as I pointed out some weeks ago?
