Heart played Leave Me Alone by Michael Jackson as part of today's 2pm Time Tunnel.

Nice to hear a different tune - but the baffling thing was the Time Tunnel year being revealed as 1988.

Leave Me Alone was released in 1989.

Did someone mess up?

I don't know, as I didn't hear the time tunnel today. But I sometimes hear the time tunnels and the years sometimes do overlap a little bit?

BTW I don't listen to Heart as much as I used to - but I did tune in again today. If you want to you can hear my updated list of segue ways at http://www.mixcloud.com/spotify95.

So apparently I have to re-tune my DAB in the West Midlands from 28th, as Heart is moving. Anyone know what that is all about? That'll be hard, considering the screen is broke on my DAB radio, so I have to find my way around with no screen

Ugh, if you're going to complain about something as technical as cue points at least post decent quality clips! You might want to look up segue in the dictionary as well. http://dictionary.reference.com/word...002/11/15.html

I thought Joel Ross was pretty good covering for Roberto. Wonder if he'll be covering Network shows again?

I wouldn't worry about the loss of Heart myself. I don't listen as much as I used to - no new music, the rest of it being overplayed, and very, VERY dodgy segueways.

I know what segue means - the transition from one element to another. It's the transitions that are very poor indeed - the segues are far too early through the song, and most (if not all) are crashing the vocals. Here's one that stands out:
http://www.mixcloud.com/mikerichards...-marker-fault/

Totally crashed the vocal.

By the way, I do apologise about the quality of some of the clips. I've currently got an equaliser problem on the laptop, and need to try and look into it.

The MXR multiplex in the West Midlands is closing. Heart, Capital and Smooth have moved to the Birmingham and Wolverhampton multiplexes. Some of the stations, for example Choice, LBC and Real XS, will no longer be available from Monday.

I agree about everything being 'over-played' - you just know 'The Time Of My Life' (Bill Medley/Jennifer Warnes) Dancing Queen/ Abba/ Kylie/ Hot Chocolate etc..... is up and coming... amongst umpteen other constantly over-played tracks.

Probably the most annoying station I have ever heard...

I wonder if you could start a quiz called "Let's try and guess the next song playing on Heart" or something similar... you'd be correct almost all of the time...

What made me tune out of Heart was their very dodgy segueways. They are always hacking anything, and everything, shorter than it should be. The fade points are either:
a) in a silly position, crashing the vocals
b) about 3/4 of the way through a song
c) before the natural fade point
d) more than one of the above (or sometimes all 3)

Did you hear them hack Jermaine Stewart?

What the hell is a segueway?

As others have pointed out, use a dictionary or spell check!

Emma Scott has left Heart South West.

Dave Luck seems to be doing the Devon Drivetime show and Dave Taylor from Heart Cornwall Drivetime is doing the South West networked Saturday show.

Oh dear. I meant to type "segue" or "segway" - other people have said that these both are interchangeable. Obviously not segueway though...
Interestingly I got an email from Heart once and they used the word "segueways" in their reply... ehh?!

Maybe concerning the fact that Heart South Hams and South Devon (not South Coast as that's in the Solent area) cover pretty much the same area of South Devon, so in areas like Totnes and Dartmouth you have two Heart stations on completly different frequencies which have identical broadcasts of Heart South West 24/7.

How did the competition comission/OFCOM ever let South Hams become a Heart when it sits on top of Heart South Devon in the east of its area and Heart Plymouth in the west?

South Hams should offer some competion to Heart as it serves no purpose simulcasting other Hearts as it does today.

I don't really listen to either of those stations. I mainly just listen to Free Radio 80s, which seems to have lowered its bitrate in the Birmingham area, if I'm not mistaken. But sometimes I do listen to Heart though.

Last time I went in the area reception was tricky.

It would appear that UCB Inspirational has gone too (much to my mum's annoyance) and UCB Gospel too (although I never really listened to that station). Still get UCB UK though. Not sure off hand what other stations have gone.
