And we're cutting your favourite songs halfway through choruses so they sound stupid on air.

Can't they add that to the strapline?

If he can only play the song to 3'25 (and the song is 4'09) then why play it at all!!!!!!!!

See segueway:

He is doing this all the time to this song. Why is this?!”

I really am struggling to understand why you go on and on and on and on about hating heart but seem to spend so much time listening to it then slagging it off!!! Seems very sad to me, maybe it's time for you to get a life?

Usually I listen to Capital. On the way home from university I listened to Capital.
Only today I checked up on the song playlist on Heart halfway through the day, saw Toby and Daft Punk (always a bad combination) and listened to the segueway.
I was not pleased with what I heard.

Why have you never alerted us to this outrage before Spotify?

So much for "never listening to Heart again" and " stopped posting segues on DS again".

Do you really think it's Toby who decides he will cut this song off at 3 minutes and 25 seconds?

None of the other presenters cut the song off that early. The others usually play it in full, or at least to the instrumental.
Why Toby cuts it through the chorus I will never know.

What happened to "never listening to Heart again!"?

Told you that you wouldn't be able to do it! Can I claim my £50?

Don't be so cheeky of course you're not having £50!

Though at least it was a couple of weeks before I did catch one.

I made a little wager with you in your other thread (that's now locked) that I bet you £50 you would be listening to Heart again and posting segues soon, you said there's no way you would ever listen again, pfft going back on a bet

I can't stand Heart. I never ever listen to the station, and if someone has it on I switch it off immediately. Dire, stale, repetitive, boring and irritating presenters that love the sound of their own voice.

As for the 'music variety'... They repeat the same boring over-played dead songs from the 70s and 80s like crap from Phil Collins, Wham and bloody Chic and Sister Sledge... Yuck!

It's really for old biddies and dumb people with no imagination about music.

They never play many new chart songs either, and they play them once they have been out for ages and are no longer new. Where's the Lana Del Ray, Chase and Status or Sebastien Ingrosso?

I hope the vile station gets taken off air.

And thanks to the ridiculous Starship, Jermaine Stewart, Toploader, T'Pau and Daft Punk segueways, I hope so too!

No it's not. You are referring to what is said at the top of the hour which isn't a strapline.

You are the first person on DS to ever make that observation!!! I bet you feel really clever now.

Heart have got new jingles too. Maybe they got the whole package from On The Sly?

As an aside T.Anstis is playing D.Punk and I think I'm gonna get a ridiculous segueway in the next 2 minutes

Heart sadly will never go off air unless the company pull the plug.

If you want variety, search for the many internet stations or listen to the Absolute Network. At least you hear a song every two to three days "China Girl" by David Bowie an example not every two to three hours.

Just had another look at Heart's variety and it has gone below 1,000 uniques (again...) so Heart's standards must be slipping.

Edit: Out of interest, although it plays more music I'm into, Capital also need to get some more new songs out there - 2% http://comparemyradio.com/stations/Capital_FM

Capital pretends music was invented in 2009 (unless you are queen bitch Beyonce).

Its the top 50 on endless repeat. Very repetive. Saying that, I am 28 coming up to 29 and can not stand 95pc of the stuff they call "music" any day. Give me retro anyday.

Heart isn't supposed to play "new chart songs", if you want that try Capital or Radio 1?

If that is permanent, he's on air 7 days a week as he does South Coast drive as well.

I hear most of my fave's - including most of the chart stuff - on Capital. You might as well give that a try, they play the things like Lana Del Ray and Sebastien Ingrosso.
Chase & Status is going to be played more on Radio 1. I listened to them for a while and they liked playing Chase & Status then.
That was how I got introduced to them - I heard their song "Blind Faith" (about 2 years ago?) on R1 and liked it.

Having said that if you're listening to a "local" Heart and not the London one, try tuning in on the breakfast and drive shows. They have a slightly hotter playlist to keep in with the original licenses, so expect them to play a few newer songs then.

Heart Bristol is a tad more adventurous than Heart London; plenty of recent songs get a play. Sadly the rubbish tracks are overplayed.

That's what I said just a few minutes ago - the local Heart's will have slightly hotter output with more modern songs in their drive and breakfast shows.

I think that's the issue with Heart - they've kinda stuck with the same type of songs over the years - even if they don't get played all the time - so people think that they are being overplayed all the time. I think that they should bring out some more new songs also, and avoid the in-house editing to remove all of the rap in songs.
That won't happen anytime soon though.

Having said that the drivetime shows are sometimes just as bad as the network shows for segueways...
