Hi, I'm a big fan and I wouldn't be surprised if they've edited the song for radio because the original is quite long.

Keeping an eye on this thread over the last hour seems to have suddenly reminded me what a great film 'Dumb & Dumber' was. Must check it out again sometime......

I haven't heard that song before P. So one day I'll check it out.]

Only thing being you won't hear it on Heart, as they don't play Paramore etc...

Heart now playing their most played song yet (over the last 30 days) - Passenger - Let Her Go.

http://comparemyradio.com/stations/Heart_Northants

143 plays. Seriously, where's the music variety I'm promised?

944 uniques. 8172 total -> 11.55% music variety.

Edit: Capital are even worse with their variety:

http://comparemyradio.com/stations/Capital_FM
184 uniques. 9523 total -> 1.93% music variety!

4-5 plays a day, once every 4-5 hours on average, thats a lot less repetition than some hot a/c stations!!

CompareMyRadio is notoriously inaccurate. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the scores, it misses a lot.

Why on earth are heart still playing that dreary old flowers sng by Bruno Mars? Dunno what it's called but it just refer to it as "i should have bought you flowers" because that's all he says... anyway why are they still playing that one, not "Locked Out Of Heaven" or even "Treasure"?

Also don't know why they're still playing Labrinth ft Emeli Sande - Beneath You're Beautiful. It has to be one of the most overplayed songs on radio, yet there still hammering it out as if it was new. Why?!

Edit: They're also still hammering out Get Lucky... a good song, but don't repeat it this much...
(Or should I say, don't repeat 3/4 of it this much...)

Why are you still listening to Heart so much to know these things should perhaps be the question?

They play them because people apparently love them. No accounting for taste but they are popular songs.

Could have sworn you telling us all loads of times before that you don't listen to Heart anymore? I guess the answer is the same as to why Heart are playing those same songs over and over: it's who they are and what they do!

Both of these can still be heard on your beloved Heart Four Counties (which I believe is your region).

No, he lives in Leicester now I believe, he has to go out of his way to listen to Heart on-line or catch-up to complain about it.

Wrong!

I still live in Northamptonshire but commute to university. So it IS Heart Four Counties.

You commute from Northamptonshire to Leicester daily?

You're correct there SP. But whilst I'm at home I now use Spotify; I've given up knowing I'll just be annoyed at the output of Heart, one way o another.

Yep, it isn't that far at all. About 30 minutes on the train, and a 15 minute walk from the station to university.

There's no point in living at university when it'll be easier and cheaper to commute

Back on topic, I'm surprised to see that Heart played Shane Filan - "About You". Never heard of that song before, it's definitely a unique one to add to the CompareMyRadio list

They also just played Michael Jackson - Thriller - in full!
Maybe there's no need to complain after all

I like how "Thriller" goes over 5 minutes yet they cut shorter songs.

It would be very noticeable to cut it as the ending laugh is arguably the most iconic part of the track.

All of Heart's edits are noticeable especially when they cut rap out of songs, the worst examples being Give Me Everything and Holy Grail. Also they end songs very early!

Spot on there. Some of their early endings - aka 'segues' are so noticeable its like it ruins the flow of the station. You're right they are way to early.
And with that I'll say no more (as I don't want people saying I'm moaning! )

You have said enough already. The segues are fine, sound fine for the style of the station.

But you know that having been told it enough times.

Ah, just what this thread was crying out for - another person who "hates" Heart yet seems to listen daily.

Now all we need is a comment that conveniently ignores a definition of "variety" and we're sorted... oh no, wait: post #1629!

We've gone back to the days when Heart just launched.
