It could be that he knew it was his last show but decided not to mention it - although that is unlikely.

He would fit a local show on Smooth - West Midlands in particular - not sure if that would have been announced at the same time - I presume if the Smooth changes are happening in two weeks there are presenters ready but nothing has been announced.

Matt's page is now updated on hearts website to show his new slot

http://www.heart.co.uk/on-air/matt-wilkinson/

As is Margherita Taylor's

http://www.heart.co.uk/on-air/margherita-taylor/

Margherita Taylor will continue her Sunday slot as well 12pm to 4pm

To stop a decline is listeners, the national roll out and more Importantly the survey results from Heart London's listener music survey, it was time to bring in a new presenter for the 1-4pm slot.

Agreed. Most under rated presenter EVER. Shes fantastic.

Maybe she's happy doing the late night / early morning shifts as she's on Classic FM from 22:00 to 02:00 which then gives her 2 hours between shows finishing at 06:00 with the new slot at heart

You do realise Margherita Taylor is voice-tracked on Classic FM?

I noticed she must have dashed from Leicester Square to Sky like a rocket.

I wonder where Nick will end up next? Magic or Absolute?

Margherita wasn't on this morning. Simon Beale was on until 6.

Maybe Magic afternoons with a rival against Smooth Paul Phear as I have a funny feeling Nick has big ratings

Must have been a sudden change as Nick was scheduled to be on Holiday and MT already had commitments for Sky.

Also would have thought Matt is the choice as he's one of Global s network presenters.

Yeah, on Friday Matt was listed to be on in Nick's place last Saturday and all this week twice 04:00 to 06:00 and 13:00 to 16:00 this was also showing yesterday on hearts website.

Why he's gone will create a lot of speculation but only global and or Nick could tell us why he's gone

Maybe he leaked the Who's On Heart names. Someone needs to get it; it feels like it's been going on forever....

The DJs are never told for that reason.

But telling us would involve Global treating us, the listeners, with a degree of respect that is clearly beyond them. Who are we to be asking reasonable questions? If Global were actually to answer them, where would it all end?

This whole game of musical chairs involving their various brands, Heart, Smooth , Gold and the as yet un-named new station as to which is broadcast or dropped on which local or national platform and which presenter will be hired, fired, moved or dropped from which station has been going on for months, in other words far too long.

What is needed, and what would end the speculation, is for Global or one of their "yes men" on here to publish in full a full list of where each station will end up and which presenter / DJ will be in which slot.

There's a challenge then.....any takers?

Guess I won't hold my breath!

Why??

Whenever I've left a station I've done a last show and many presenters get to do the same however they just do a normal show.

I know the belief here is that presenters are suddenly binned off and escorted from the building there and then but in.my experience this is rare and there'd usually more to it. When a presenter is removed they are paid to the end of their contract. I've seen it happen twice and one was because he'd had child porn on his computer at home.

Knowing Nicks reputation as a professional I doubt there is some huge backstory here.

He might replace Paul Phear on Magic!

Bet Global found out and fired him straight away?

One theory. That's bad treating someone like that, but hey are freelancers or contracted?
occy

Global on all brands are having a bit of a clear out. Unless you have a solid contract or reputation then your gone without a last show. David Jensen, Pat Sharp and David Prever all went suddenly from Smooth. It's like you have other jobs goodbye. Simon Bates, Carlos and Lynn P must have had solid contracts to stay until the end, unless they have a choice go now or stay?

I know this is Heart thread.
