I have a Digihome DTR-80 and have just bought an Hitachi HDR253, they both use the same remote controller, is there any way to re-programme one of the remotes so it dose'nt interfere with the other machine.

Unfortunately not. I have two Vestel PVRs in the same room, and the way around it is to ensure only one is switched on out of standby at a time. Then you can toggle each one that you use by using the power button on the remote. Alternatively, you may be able to get away with having both on, and ensuring one is in AUX mode - then you can also toggle between the two with the AUX button on the remote (the unit in AUX mode will ignore most remote buttons apart from the obvious).
