Lady GaGa - Worldwide Album Sales.
The Fame - Released 19th August 2008.

Sales - 6,395,700 (Last weeks position on the worldwide chart was #4 with sales of 122,400. If this carries on The Fame Monster will have sold more than The Fame by the end of the year) The Remix - Released 3rd March 2010. Wow, amazing to think her sales are still continuing at such a rate after this long, especially in this climate for the market.
Can you imagine how much it would of sold 10 years ago? |

She's on fire.
Kind of weird to think that there's such a steady flow of people buying the album(s) still, despite the huge sales. You'd think the people who like her would have bought it by now. Perhaps they're just slow on the uptake...or finally caved (I have a few friends who took till recently to cave and admit they liked her). Any official figures for her single sales? They seem hard to track down. |

11 million or, 14 million is still impressive in this climate.

It is confusing how they would add it up, when you consider that in the uk, for example, The Fame Monster has been released as a re-release of The Fame, so it contains everything from both albums, effectively meaning anyone who buys TFM will have bought both albums. Which makes me wonder how they calculate the overall sales from countries like ours

She should ideally take some time out and not run into overkill although apparently dancing in the dark is her next single |

To be fair, the majority of the fame monsters sales are combined with The fame's sales so i find it very hard to believe it has sold 6 million alone. The fame monster by it's self has only sold about 1-2 million copies. Maybe 3.

She is the current queen of pop like her or not. Just imagine what her sales would be like if she debuted in the late 90s like Britney and Christina.

It's probably just the shipped units from the manufacturers that take the numbers up.
At this point they're not officially sold, but they're released in anticipation and wouldn't have been produced if it wasn't practically guaranteed they would sell. The same thing happened when people refused to believe she sold 8 million, then 10 million. Basically when the next 'Lady Gaga has sold X million' release, she will have fulfilled the 14 million mark and it'll be onto the next mark that people will doubt. |

There you go. I don't believe it has sold another 5 million worldwide. Fame monster's sales are combined with the fame. So it's a lie. Fame monster has not sold 6 million by it's self.

That site (musicharts.net) is completely unreliable.

No way has this sold that much. It's only went platinum in the US and sold around 700K here since it was released. That's 2 million, and she did NOT sell 4 million copies of the album between the small markets of Australia, Brazil, France, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Austria etc.

worldwidealbums.net was the best, their estimates were pretty much always spot on. Too bad they stopped updating it

mediatraffic.de is more reasonable, but again there are some horrible overesimates on there. Sales info for the likes of the US, UK, Australia, etc is pretty easy to find, but when it comes to other countries it's a guessing game. Only when a record label or some other "official" source comes out with figures can you really trust them |

Quite how she sells so many records is beyond me. It's just typical "bubble gum pop", but she seems to get away with it because she wears bizarre clothing and puts weird imagery into her videos.
I thought she was OK at first but that "Telephone" song made me want to throw up. The video was truly awful. |
