Faulty Orange Iphone
Hi we have an Iphone 3GS on Orange that won't charge. I've tried 3 seperate chargers, reset the phone and cleaned the contacts and still nothing. The USB on the computer doesn't recognise it either.
The phone is obviously faulty but what is the quickest way of getting it replaced. It is about 4 months old and is on an orange £45 a month contract directly from then. How long do Orange normally take to get a replacement out? Will we be better off taking it to the Apple store in Glasgow at the weekend? The contract is in my wifes name so I will have to wait till she comes in from work anyway. Thanks |

Take it to apple if possible. Book a genius appointment and they'll either fix it or replace it on the spot. Orange will likely send it away for repair leaving you without a phone

How do we organise that? Do we call the store or Apple technical support? |

Yeah thats it. Just as a thought it's not been near water has it as that would be the only thing that would prevent you getting a warranty replacement. There are 4 little white stickers, one is in the headphone jack, another in the dock port and two internal. These turn red if they come into contact with water and all of them would need to be red to invalidate the warranty. Just try and check your external ones if possible, don't open it up

INFO here It's been a week for breakdowns, ![]() My car is overheating with possibly a blownhead gasket. The Playstation 3 has got the yellow light of death for the third time. The laptop is down to 1 working USB port, I've ordered a pcmcia usb expansion card from Ebay, Not to mention the fact that we had to pay the balance on the holiday and get 2 passports last week.

If your sensors are fine you should get it swapped no problems when you go in store. You'll lose any data but you will be able to restore from your most recent backup when you get it home. I would have advised backing up before you go in but if iTunes wont detect it you cant of course
We tend to have periods like that too. Had the PC blow up, washer dryer conk out and the TV break in quick succession a couple of years ago. |
