Missed F1 recording @ the weekend?
RHardaker
27-07-2010
Anyone else missed the recording of the F1 at the weekend? I set the quali (bbc1), race (bbc1) & the forum (301) to record as one programme to try to avoid any series link issues. How annoying that everything else I'd left to record from Fri through to Mon (even Coronation street!) worked but my 9200T (on .23) did not record any F1 Now, missing coronation street can be handled but missing the F1!!! I hope these issues are sorted soon.

Mine recorded fine, too. We were set on series link. But there was a last minute change to the broadcast. The forum was extended at the last minute due to the Ferrari fiasco. Perhaps it was because you set to single recording?

Yes - I did. I set the race as a single recording as we had to go out part way through. I heard the Humax wake up 15 minutes before the start, checked it was in the recording schedule, but didn't actually check it was recording.

When I got back (about 4pm) I went to watch the recording and it wasn't there, and wasn't in the recording schedule either.

Everything else over the weekend recorded fine, both single recordings and series link.

Sandy Heath transmitter.

Mendip transmitter

The qualifying recorded, but I noticed that the the race on Sunday had not started at 12.05pm, so did a manual recording from 12.25pm.

Mine didn't!

It was set to record the qualifying, but when I checked before going out, it was still showing last weeks race (on a series link) in the schedule having not updated for this week. I waited until 5-10 minutes before it was due to start but as it had still not updated I had to delete the scheduled recording, then added it from the guide. It then recorded correctly, along with the race.

Wonder why it didn't spot that the qualifying was on?

But was it showing last weeks race venue but with this weeks date and timings? The schedule always shows the name of the previous race (or qualifying) venue even though it's picked up the timings for qualifying for the next race venue. After qualifying the venue name (in the schedule) changes to the current weekend venue because obviously qualifying and the race are from the same venue. This must happen with all series links but you don't notice it because Coronation Street is always Coronation Street, Doc Martin is always Doc Martin, etc.

By the way, mine recorded perfectly on Series-Link, as usual.

Another vote for no problems using SL.

It was showing the previous weeks venue, with the previous weeks timing and date. Sat at the top of the schedule waiting to update as Series Linked programmes seem to do before they are updated and then move to the correct chronological position in the schedule list.

It was as though it seemed to think that it wasn't on this week at all...

Was the qualifying and race flagged in the EPG? If they were I would have expected them to record, if not then the series link had been lost.

No, qualifying certainly wasn't shown on the Guide as being flagged to record. I didn't check the race, I just muttered and then re-set the recording!

I have two boxes (now I have fixed a second donated unit) and both are set to record The Hotel Inspector on Five, along with Suzi (short-shorts) Perry and the boys on the Gadget Show, both (on both units) on Series Link. I noticed last night that 'Box 2' re-recorded The Hotel Inspector which was repeated on Fiver, but 'Box 1' didn't.

I'm at a loss to explain that one...

Not wanting to get up at some ungodly hour to watch the South Korean F1, last night I used the EPG to schedule its recording. I chose Single program, rather than series link. So I get up early at 9:30 (early for me) and turn on the Humax (it powered up very quickly, as though it was recording something - it wasn't) and settle down to watch it. Bu99er. It didn't record. No errors, not in the schedule, no trace.
Anybody else get this? I'm on the latest software and receiving from Crystal Palace.

I'm on the Emley Moor transmitter and had the exact same experience. F1 race on single recording was not recorded, very very annoying.

Both recorded fine here on SL receiving from Heathfield.

I tried to record it just by doing a one off recording plus adding a load of padding on my 9200. It didn't record but came up with a strange symbol next to it. then tried to record something else which it did two of but gave it a name of something I deleted months ago, I then went to delete it, the box locked up which required turning off and on at the mains....then...yes you know whats coming... I discovered I'd lost all my recordings ....

I gave up with my 9200 when after version 23 software it still failed to record the first part of a recording.

As if the "start signal" triggers the 9200 to come out of standby and by the time it is able to start recording the program has already started... rather than be out of standby some minutes before and just waiting for the "start signal".

Resorted to adding pre and post padding which of course stops series link etc so really its just a basic PVR.

Invested in a Topfield TF5800 which with TAPS and the right software is a lot more flexable than the Humax AND works properly all the time everytime.

In comparason: The Humax with its clumsy handheld, poor EPG display and associated navigation looks like something out of the stone age.

Would I recommend or buy another Humax product - NO

My 9200T recordered the race and qualifying on the series link that been in place since before the Japanese GP ...

The race broadcast on BBC 1 was terminated for the Andrew Marr show ...

Nope. Don't remember either Fred or Barney having a Humax (Humaxasaurus?) in The Flintstones.

Everything recorded OK for me down here in Fareham - two recordings on Saturday and two on Sunday (that's both the early morning one as well as the afternoon one.....)

I could have told them that it was going to rain as well.....Every time that I have been to southern South Korea, this time of the year, it has rained on me

Except there should have been three recordings on the Sunday if you include the afternoon re-run.
