A/V Equipment problem. Major.
Hello there.
Well, I have a major problem. My DVD Player is connected to my JVC Hi-Fi, via a "1 phono output - which has been converted to 2 via a gadget from maplins" thing. So i have a 3.5mm in the left and right Aux outputs. So, in the left i have both LEFT - White wires so the white wire from the computer (so i can play my music from it) is in one of the left holes and the DVD is in the other left and for the right sae again. Now when the DVD Player is playing a CD you get APPALLINGLY DISSTORTED SOUND if you are playing a cd. (or dvd not so bad) now out of the Comp i have the keyboard volume on half way the hi-fi on 3/10 volume and the headphomes where i Really want the vol. So, why the disstorted sound?? So, I've gone through that. Also, the picture is fuzzy - through a DVD Player!, yes. I have a SCART from the DVD to a VCR ehich is connected in-turn to the TV. Also one vcr is connected to another, ok following so far. And i have swapped the wires and which VCR i get the Scart going to(from). Now, the picture perks up to sharpness, when i carefully pull out the RCA phono leads out of the JVC, what has the hi-fi got to do with the picture!! So, why the dreadful picture. Lastly, when I'm fiddling with all these wires and scarts i have to lean over the Nokia Mediamster Silver - and i get a sort of fuzz through me when i'm leaning over - not properly earthed? Also, the DVD Player gives me a tingle and to top it off the JVC produced a spark. Is it on it's way out?, I'm carefully using everything . So why the sparks? PLEASE HELP! Cheers Alex |

Good God.
Turn it all off and call an electrician. If you think you might be coming into contact with main electricity, and don't know what to do about it, you are in a very dangerous position. I'm quite serious, if you have to ask, you're not safe ! Turn it all off and call an electrician. NOW |

It made my head hurt reading that!
Its not really clear how you have your dvd player connected to your hifi...why arent you just using a pair of phono leads? |

Oh well, I'll wonder down to Richer Sounds tommorrow For the record Becasue i only had one phono input (l and r) i had a gadget that you plugged into the hifi - that made each speaker a phono port. so i had wffectively 2 inputs - one DVD, other PC. Alex |
