I'm dubious about the storyline.

Although stabbing is traditionally a very female modus operandi in dramas I really can't see Karen's motivation. I know about "sins of the father" but not "sins of the nephew's wife" being visited upon third parties.

I know Karen is leaving but who's to say that Mike's attacker is leaving? Lisa didn't leave after shooting Phil.

Would have thought they would want to 'leave the door open' for Suranne, so unless she got a short sentence it wouldn't be a good exit storyline for her. They've got a more flexible option for her exit already - Steve/Tracey and the baby, there's no need for stabbings to get her out

By now she's gotten pretty used to this situation though. She even turned toTracy in the Rovers for info on Danny's wife, grudgingly, but it's still quite a development from loathing to just plain hatred.
Maybe Liz's return will play a big part in her exit..

Looks like David and Karen can be ruled out as suspects. Karen leaves when Street Cars closes down, due to Patrick knocking down Nick in the taxi.. and therefore David would bear no grudge against Mike either, would he?

yeah - but that whole storyline is just a rumour...as I said on another thread, I'm sure I read an article saying thtat Nick was definately not being killed off...

No, there's no doubt about it. He is being killed off. It's been in papers galore, and on adam's official web-page.
