How bad is Adam Rickitt's acting?
I've just been wondering - Adam Rickitt (Corrie's Nicky) is sooo terrible! Worse than Chris Parker!

And why, before every line does he need to take a deep breath? Also, notice he says 'yeah no' before each line too. V odd. As Jaci Stephen pointed out in Weekend, Nick's relationship with Maria is doomed - trying to convince everyone "he wasn't actually interested in Todd (yeah right)". I think Todd's gaydar was pretty spot on there. |

Although I think Chris Parker is much much much worse as well, he combines appalling acting with a face that you just want to smack, Adam Ricketts is awful to - I did wonder if the Corrie scriptwriters having a dig when Lianne came out with the shop dummy line last week.

Yeah, Adam is nowhere near as bad as anorexic- sorry I mean Chris Parker. When he's speaking don't you just feel that his eyes are going to fall out of their sockets?
It was in the paper a few weeks back that he refuses to eat for scenes during rehearsels - only for the real scene; I guess he has been told by Louise Berridge to keep his puny body under seven stone for his adoring fans. |

I'm not too sure if i've always done it and watching Corrie has brought it out again or i've just caught it completely from Nick.... No one has commented on it to me yet so it can't be that bad Agent Krycek, haha that line made me laugh so much... so did Sarah's "you're a real drama queen" line ![]() The writers know him so well

lol - agree with the 'taking a breath before each line' - it just makes him look so fake - it's a good job he's going out of it near the end of the year then

I actually quite like Nick. They should use him more. And he is ALOT easier on the eyes in comparison to Spencer.

He's not that bad, after all he was introduced to corrie BECAUSE of his looks and NOT his acting.

Adam says he wants to try Hollywood, so as stated somewhere else on here, he'll need to learn his line(s) "Do you want fries with that sir?" |

Nah, I don't think looks and acting ability can ever go together. Look at Jason Grimshaw (not that I'm saying he's good looking, but you know he was hired because they think he is).

I thought he may have improved since I used to watch him. Then, he appeared to take the view that it was best not to use numerous facial expressions to convey his emotions when one would easily do. 'One' being, the all-embracing wide-eyed and totally gaga look.
Dennis Pennis would have no doubt told him he thought his acting was 'woody' and when the fella asked him what 'woody' meant, DP would have explained woody meant staring at the trees for creative inspiration. Sadly, he got to Hugh Grant with that one first. |

But Adam Rickitt is a lot better than he used to be when he first came in, in 1997. Anyone who saw the Coronation Street special, "Bad Girls", last night, could see how terrible he was from the short clip in which he tells Gail he's married to Leanne. He is much more believable now.

I completely forgot that that was on. Was it any good? Who was featured in it? I hope it gets repeated.

Cilla, Tracy, Leanne and Cilla were on it plus a few others who are not in it anymore such as Tanya Pulley (played by Eva Pope, better known now as Bad Girls' Frances Myers) a woman who hated Raquel and then stole Bet's boyfriend and ran off. |
