Hey guys, unfortunately I have to move out of my place and back in with my parents, I will no longer need the phone line / broadband / bt vision..

Have i got any chance to getting these cancelled? I've only been in contract for about 5 months.. so have another 13 months to go i believe.. (maybe only 7 with bt vision?)

Thanks,

Michael

It depends. I used to work for an ISP and in this situation it was hit and miss. It depended on the "sob" story the customer put on and the agent the customer got through to. Slo, at least try first of all. You can take the services to your parents if you're able to, of course.

The cancellation fee is currently £7.50 for every month left of the contract according to this.

So based on those terms and conditions, it should cost me the following:

Contract started on Feb 10th-ish 2010.

so as of 10th August it'd be 6 months.

So as far as i'm aware The broadband and phone line is 18 month contract and the bt vision is only a 12 month contract.

so 6 x £2.75 for bt vision is £16.50
12 x £11.75 Bt Broadband Option 3 is £141
12 x £8 for unlimited anytime plan is £96

So to cancel on 10th august (give or take a few days) would cost me £253.50

Is this correct?

Also, reading more at the bottom of that page: if im on the bundle for bt broadband/phoneline and bt vision 18 month contract it would be 12 x £21.00 which is £252

Have i got this right?

Thanks!

Michael

I've seen something somewhere a while ago that if you cancel within your first 12 months of contract you may also be charged for the cost of the BT Vision box.
