It's a bit early, I know but was wondering, who everyone thinks will be making celebrity guest appearences this year as it's the only reason I watch the show most of the time haha.

I'm thinking, Kylie Minogue almost definitely, Alexandra, JLS and Leona obviously. Katy Perry, Diddy, Ne-Yo, Black Eyed Peas, Pixie Lott, Kelly Rowland, The Saturdays, The Pretty Reckless, N.E.R.D., The Script, Diddy, Maroon 5, Kanye West, Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Taylor Swift, Kings of Leon and Coldplay all have new material coming out so I'm going to guess plenty of them will show up

Personally, I'd like Nicki Minaj to promote her debut album on it as it'd give her the right exposure to get her noticed over here in the U.K.

The auditions have already been done and the guest judges were:

- Geri Halliwell
- Natalie Imbruglia
- Katy Perry
- Pixie Lott
- Nicole Swi... (the one from Pussy Cat Dolls).

Edit: Oops, you meant actual singing on the show.

We'll get the X-factor crap; Alexandra, JLS, Joe McEldery, guaranteed the last one anyway.

I'd like Nicki Minaj to go and perform on it but she's not popular enough and the music she does wouldn't really go with the show, unfortunately.

Yeah, but she's good enough to become popular over here given the right exposure and promotion..

Am I the only one who watches the x factor for the guest performances? lol

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about Joe McElderry.

They'll only get relatively massive acts on there. The X-Factor doesn't want to produce or promote any new and proper talent.

NERD should do it. It might give them another hit single. I don't think they are big enough though.

Pretty much confirmed:
Alexandra Burke
Leona Lewis
Cheryl Cole
JLS
Joe McElderry

Almost certainly:
Susan Boyle
Take That
Kylie
Pixie Lott

Possibly:
Olly Murs
Diana Vickers

Depending on material:
Lady GaGa
BEP
Katy Perry

Some other names:
Plan B
Kelly Rowland
Coldplay

Not a hope in hell:
Nadine Coyle
The Saturdays

Pixie Lott has a very high chance of getting a performance on there IMO. Simon Cowell seems to love her as she wrote a song for Alexandra Burke's album, performed on BGT and also came in as a stand in judge for X-factor.

She has no chance. She's not that popular and she's on a rival label.

I agree with most of your list except the Saturdays. If the record company release Higher as their next single this will feature in one of the finals. Nadine Coyle is certain not to feature as she would be perceived as a rival to Cheryl.

The only way The Saturdays will be on is if Missing You/Headlines is a huge smash

Nadine not being on doesn't have anythng to do with Cheryl, she doesn't have that sort of power - even Simon can't decide who performs (e.g. Rhyidan last year). It'll be because she's not big enough at the moment

Are you sure Simon doesn't decide, or at least have a big say in who performs?

Also, how many live shows are there roughly?

I swear I just posted here but its disappeared.

Anyway, I'm rooting for Britney to do a performance, if she hurries up and gets her new single out this year. Robyn would be nice too, seeing as she has new material out later this year, although there's obviously no chance of that happening.

I wouldn't completely rule out Nadine. I mean obviously she's not big at the moment, because she hasn't released or even leaked anything. But for all we know her debut single could be a massive hit, and apparently insiders are saying its really good. And lets not forget that Miley Cyrus performed on The X Factor, and she doesn't sell very many records in the UK. I think for Nadine it just depends on what the song's like, and how many people are above her on the list to perform. Same goes for The Saturdays. They'd be low down on the producer's wishlist, but its by no means impossible they'd perform.

Alexandra, Leona, JLS and Joe McElderry will definitely perform I'd say. The first three are doing very well, and the latter is last years winner and will obviously launch himself on this years show. I wouldn't rule out Olly Murs and Diana Vickers either. I agree with everyone who said Kylie and Pixie Lott...VERY likely. I don't think Cheryl will be performing though. I can't see her releasing anything else now until maybe January. Think Take That will perform too as Robbie is back with them now and they're releasing a track with him around X Factor time.

Why would Leona go on? She has no single or album out until Summer 2011 apparently.

Be interesting to see who they get for the final, the big one. Maybe try and wheel Madonna out?

Oh yes he has a say but he's not the only producer, it's certainly not a case of what he says goes all of the time

There are 10 live weekends with 2 performances every week, so in total 20 slots, plus perhaps two more for the final so 22 or so in total.

Oh okay, thanks for the info. 20 performances? Wow, that's a lot of promotion for a lot of artists haha.

Sugababes might perform, especially if there's a British girlband night. They're pretty cosy with Simon IIRC.

Surely there won't be 2 performances until some of the contestants are eliminated?

Because that would mean the first show would have the intro performance, the 10 contestants and 2 guests.

Performances are on a Saturday, results night is on a Sunday now, so there's always two guest performers per show.
