I wish I could post the full article on here as it's worth a read but Broadcast magazine, which is the industry weekly has a one page article all about Eastenders current woes. It has quotes from both Mal Young and Louise Berridge. It's worth reading to just to laugh otu loud at how ignorant these two are. It also re-enforces my point that perhaps Mal Young is to blame for the shows demise not Louise Berridge.

They basically claim that it's the press that is giving the show a bad name and as EE is a high profile show, more so then Corrie, it's going to get a lot of attention in the tabloid press. So in other words, they think very little is wrong with the show. Berridge does admit that the Kidney storyline didn't work very well and Mal Young claims that he told Louise Berridge and the team to concentrate a lot more on the older characters for the moment - which is bollocks. However they promise a lot of new characters and a lot more comedy in the coming year.

Obviously I can't remember the article word for word but that is generally what they say.

Just a shame they haven't the got the guts to say 'yeah scripts have sucked. Storylines sucks. Half of the characters suck and continunity suck'

But then again, it's their arse on the line isn't it?

I can't wait for them to do more comedy, that will be the final nail in the camel's back.

Yeah I'm gonna buy it too! Is it in WHSmith? and how much is it? Same old story, ML and LB talking baloney - someone at the BBC please bang these two's heads together. One day they'll wake up and smell the coffee, but only when it is too late. They need a reality check

It worries me that Mal Young is involved with the new series of Doctor Who. I realise that he would have to go a long way to make it as bad as the late eighties series and the 1996 TV movie but still...

Broadcast can usually only be bought in major city centres as it has a limited readership of media people. Smiths & Borders and most good newsagents sell it in London though.
