Hi all I'me a newbee with a foxsat hdr, only had it a week.

I want to reserve two programs from the epg but they both start at the same time, so I get a clash measage. Tried to change the 2nd recording to start and end 2 minutes later but still get a clash.

Another problem, I pressed red to instant record a film that had already started, all ok, but when a tried to change to check some thing on another channel it would not let me, just went blank and stayed on the channel I was recording.

What am I doing wrong ???

Have you got one or two feeds going into the back of the HDR? You will need 2 to record more than one channel at a time.

Welcome to the forum Bowboy.

How many satellite feeds do you have? the box requires in most circumstances to have two sat feeds.

It's been known that some people have connected just one feed and then completed the set up prior to initial use and then added a second feed, the problem with that is that the box doesn't automatically adjust to the two feeds.

Doing a factory reset should reconfigure the box to work with twin inputs

I had 2 inputs on set up .
I have recorded 2 programs together the 2nd starting much later but it was over was overlapping towards the end.
The trouble is why cant I record 2 that is starts and ends at the same time.

I'm a bit curious how you are setting the recordings as in your first post you mentioned that..
Another problem, I pressed red to instant record a film that had already started,
are you pressing the red record button to make a reservation from the epg as well? If so you should be pressing the 'ok' button to reserve programming slots, this way you also get the option to record series links and choice between HD and SD when the option presents itself.

Apologies if I'm assuming incorrectly.

I which case it could be that the recording your making is on the BBC and the data supplied by them is conflicting with a similar transmission on a regional variant. If so it's a known issue and some people delete the unwanted regions from their channel listings to overcome the problem.

however I would perform a factory reset anyway just incase it's the box stumbling over it's own software. Be aware that you will need to re-instate any personal preferences of screen resolution and aspect ratio etc. Also the boxes volume defaults to 50% and will need ramping back up via the remote control.

Before you do you should have posted which two programmes you could not record together, most likely a screw up by the broadcaster.

Try this assuming you have not deleted the bbc regions.

Goto 951 BBC 1 CI start an instant recording

Goto 108 BBC-HD start an instant recording

Goto any other channel and press pause, if this works then the problem is more than likely a broadcaster one.If not it's a hardware problem. Post if it does not work for more advice as to what is wrong

Hi guys,
have removed all the other bbc channels just left with
S West and London. Can instant record 2 progs but still have a clash using the guide...

Have done a factory reset.

Have followed advice and:
set 951 to instant record
set 108 to " ditto "
and watched and paused channel 4.

This is all looking very good ! but I wont do any more untill prompted buy you good people.
