Neighbours - Do you Dee ever returning?

I think it would be ok for Neighbours to do a second storyline with a character returning from being lost at sea. As long as there was some little reference made to how it happened before with Harold and how much of a coincidence that it happened twice in Ramsay Street then I'd be fine with it!! It's a soap so it's not like things are ever that realistic anyway!

I think they could have a story whereby Dee was washed up on somewhere and then captured by some mad/crazy person and held hostage for the last few years!! Finally she manages to escape and returns to Ramsay Street to find Toadie! The story could begin with just us the viewer seeing her being held hostage and we are shocked to realise it's Dee! Then we'd see her escape over the next couple of weeks and her return home.

While I did love Dee, I think any return would be stretching things a little bit too far. Accepting Harold had been lost at sea with amnesia was hard enough to swallow. I'd rather we got the more plausible return of Sindi, who was close enough to Dee character-wise.

Re. mentions of past characters, I don't think they're too bad at them at the moment, though it's aminly used as cover for actors holidays- I think all of the Kennedy's, Lyn and Rebecca have all been to visit their missing children. The only one that bugs me is that Drew's parents aren't mentioned- surely they'd want to see Ben, and I don't think many of us would mind him being packed off to Oaky for a few weeks!!

I sometimes feel that the problem Neighbours has is that it tries too hard not to be a soap, rather than going through the usual soap cliches it tries and fails to take itself seriously.

I'd love it to take more soapy risks, but with the exception of the OTT period in late 06/early 07 I always feel the show tries too hard to be "real" rather than the way most soaps are.

Maybe it's just me, but almost everyday I read fans suggestions on how storylines could've/should've panned out and 99% are better than the sort of mellow climaxes Neighbours tends to give storylines.

That's just one opinion though, and pretty irrelevant. Didge was well liked by the other Ramsey Street residents and so they should mention her from time to time, Declan especially. She was his wife after all! Whereas with Dee - let's be honest, how many of the current residents ever knew her?

Yes but thats not a reason why Declan should never mention his dead wife, yet Toadie is supposed to talk about Dee's who been dead for 7 years!!

I liked both characters, but Bridget is more recent so it's likely she will be mentioned more than Dee.

That's because most people thought she was an unpleasant character played by a poor actress. And Dee is supposed to have drowned - but people have made miraculous recoveries from all sorts of things in Neighbours, so why not bring someone back from the dead?

I reckon she'll return around 2017.

You'd think there'd be some publicity about it if there was.
